UPDATE: It turned out that the first tank I received was defective. They kindly sent me a replacement and it works great! It is very easy to assemble and the top fits perfectly this time! Perfect for my garters. The sliding plate does NOT slide easily. It's very difficult to open and it took me about 10 minutes to get the lid off the first time!

This is a great tank for the price. We use it for our hermit crabs so the sand is a little fiddly to remove as the sides aren't fully sealed. Plus it's really pretty and gave my grumpy ladies a lot more space. The top slides easily but we don't lock it as the mesh is held in place by a lid on the back of the tank. I'd say it's definitely on par with the more expensive tanks.

I bought two of these but had a small problem with a screw hole on one of them but nothing a little tightening wouldn't fix. Fairly easy assembly, be sure to remove the foil from the rubber strips. I prefer their size (20" long, 12" wide, 10" high) to the standard 10 gallon tank (20" long, 10" wide, 12" high). This gives my herpes more freedom of movement. A bit pricey but worth the money so far. I also like that they are easy to take apart.

Judging by the reviews of other similar products, this product does not break in the packaging because it is delivered disassembled for assembly. Lid does not fit. Good parts, but overall they don't work. The idea is great but the quality is terrible. I can't square the panels, or in other words align them as they should. The lid is crooked.
