Good features in a small package

Good radio. Unique features in a compact size. This version has AM, FM and SW bands in addition to Bluetooth and mp3. This would be a nice little travel radio for people traveling overseas. If you're closer to home and want to use NOAA weatherbands instead of SW, the Kaito KA680 has the same size, form factor, menu type, and OS as this Tivdio HR-11S.

Pros
  • Nice packaging

Excellent customer service!

I received this product and it is exactly as described. When I started to set it up I encountered a problem with the battery performance, all functions worked when connected via the serial port and at startup, but the battery performance did not work, although it was visible that it was charged. I contacted the manufacturer and they were great to work with and they offered a free replacement with free shipping. I will buy more products from this group!

Pros
  • I have always loved it
Cons
  • Everything is great

Lasts a very long time

I love this radio, I keep it in my trunk for emergencies and general use. I've used it dozens of times for different reasons, mainly as a party radio without music, but I've also used it for its Bluetooth capability, connecting it to my phone to play louder music and my own music. This little guy's volume is surprisingly warm for his size, usually small speakers sound high or canned, but not this one.

A very small radio can do a lot

A very small radio with a surprising number of tricks. If you're desperate, it can even charge your phone. The manual mentions the ability to display e-books, but I think that would be very distracting on a tiny display. Note that shortwave coverage is not continuous but consists of multiple bands with gaps in coverage of several MHz. It picks up 5 and 10MHz WWV at my house with a whip antenna. No connection for external antenna or ground. If you want to learn more about this little radio, you…

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

10-12 hours of radio listening

Right out of the box the battery had three bars and I was only able to listen to FM radio for eight hours. Charged and 11am to 12pm FM radio. The battery charges in 3-4 hours. You can take out the battery and use any phone charger to power the device. This is what I do to extend battery life. The solar panel supplies 15V in bright sunlight and 50mA. A good six hours in the sun gives you a battery life of one and a half bars. What would 3-4 hours of FM radio be. Not bad in a pinch. The product…

This radio is ideal for camping and hiking.

The little emergency radio that could! A great price at the moment for a versatile, compact receiver. Find my name and model number on Youtube to see a detailed test video of this radio. Features I like about this radio: * Build quality. * The sound quality in the speaker and headphones is fantastic. .* Excellent FM reception.* Decent SW reception when connected via an external cable.* Recording function that also records stereo from the FM band!* Backlit LCD panel.* Solar, dynamo and…

Great radio at a great price

This radio deserves five stars for features and quality for only $50. Of course if it's a $200 radio it could have extra features etc. but if you read all the available features carefully you can conclude that that's a lot. My needs are basic at the moment and I am currently using AM and FM mostly. I've been a radio amateur for 53 years and have used dozens of radios during that time. This radio is sensitive enough to pick up even the weakest AM and FM stations in my area. Individuals…

Best choice for emergency radio

Received my Tivdio HR-11S yesterday, promptly delivered by UPS. I chose this radio after looking at all the other emergency radio options. Due to the many features and good reviews, Tivdio turned out to be the best choice. I tested the radio for about two hours following the 30-page manual and found the following results: 1. The sound quality of the MP3 player and FM radio is excellent even though the speaker is only 1.5 inches .2. Automatic digital channel search is relatively easy, as is…

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Overpriced radio for what it can't, not for what it 'can'.

For the price, I expected better reception, but as with most attempts at making a compact "emergency" radio, the FM/SW pin is too short, which SW reception directly affects VHF reception to some extent but not as much as SW reception except for the LED/siren the Kaito KA29 handles everything better, also the green backlight retains night vision better than the HR115's white backlight. The Kaito KA29 can be purchased here at Revain for $35. I bought mine almost new for less than $20 on another…
