It appears to be as described.

Seems to be as described. I plan to test it as a battery replacement in a 15kW whole house generator. The description is a bit misleading as it consists of SIX 2.7V 500F capacitors in series for an RMS rating of 16.2V at 83F. Just right for most 12V automotive/emergency generators.

Cons
  • Some difficulties

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Stick to Maxwell Super Caps - At least 1 out of 6 is immediately useless

At least 1 out of 6 caps on this line is bad. I will probably replace the bad Maxwell caps as they are already soldered into my application. Bought because of the low price, but will no longer buy these non-branded (Green Cap brand) supercaps. This circuit will self-discharge from 14 volts to zero in about an hour. Don't waste your time with them!

Cons
  • Useless features

Maybe spare parts B-stock

The product was received quickly but with two dents on one of the super caps. It showed 2.7 volts and still works fine. Contrary to the description, 500 farads divided by 6 supercaps is actually 83 farads. Actually I think it could be less than 83 but I'm happy with my app so far. I hooked them up to a portable system using two lead acid batteries for solar powered vans.

Cons
  • Band

Some cells will not charge to 2.7V, need replacing

I would like to change my rating but I need to replace some capacitors. I was very happy at first, but there are a couple of capacitors that won't charge to 2.7V. See my photos, there are at least three of them (two on a set of 6 and one on another set of 6). I bought this item twice in the same day because my project needed two. I plan to make more projects, but don't plan on using this manufacturer unless I can figure out why some of them don't reach 2.7V. Maybe the balance board isn't…

Cons
  • Not the best

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great, but there has to be a proper nomenclature for this product.

Works very well, still in the process of balancing the module with it, but it definitely works. This is a 16.2V battery with a capacity of approximately 83.34 farads. This is a calculation, in practice it's probably closer to 80, depending on the voltage there will always be some parasitic losses. The balance board drains the charge from overfilled cells, about 2.698 volts I think. Recharging this device will result in a small explosion, but this should be harmless as long as the charging…

Cons
  • Incredible piggy bank

Great, but there has to be a proper nomenclature for this product.

Works very well, am still in the process of looping the module to balance it, but it definitely works. This is a 16.2V battery with a capacity of approximately 83.34 farads. This is a calculation, in practice it's probably closer to 80, depending on the voltage there will always be some parasitic losses. Pros

Cons
  • Questionable purchase for senior citizens
