Shankly Piece Glow Socket Diesel Review

These worked quite well on my Ford 7.3. A bit thick at the U-joint but I was able to get them to work well. I have also used them in other hard to reach places for various vehicles.

This is a decent little set of flexible deep sockets. I bought this to access the glow plugs on an F350 6.0 and the sockets worked as expected. They appear to be of decent quality. I would recommend.

A very good investment in a tool. Glow plugs fit my 04 F350 perfectly! I have a few other things that will come in handy as well. Excellent quality and as is the case in which they come. Highly recommended and would buy again if needed.

Haven't used them yet but they look good. The seller emailed me a few times to ask about them and let them know if I will have any problems with them for years to come. Must be a good product, most places don't care when they get the money.

This was what I needed to remove the glow plug. I also bought a torque wrench that provides torque in both directions. With the torque involved in removing the old glow plug, there is less chance of breaking the exposed portion of the glow plug and leaving the bottom portion in the engine. Once loosened, you can stop before unscrewing the top of the glow plug.

If you're changing your glow plugs, YOU NEED them. After I've owned them for more than half a year, I had to go back and also announce that it's still worth using them for a large truck, and not just for glow plugs. I emptied my HPOP, dropped my gearbox and other jobs that I would have had to run to the store if I hadn't had them in my box. They don't just sit after changing your glow plugs!

I needed a glow plug connector to remove and replace the original connectors on a 2009 BMW X5. I was offered almost $75 for the manufacturer's tool. It was only for an outlet. Found it and ordered it right away. Delivered the next day. I had no problem getting the job done with the right head from this set! I have several Shankly tools and have never had a problem with any!

This product does NOT hold the glow plug in the socket, the rubber mold that is supposed to hold the glow plug is useless, the only good thing about this product is there are 3 rotating sockets in different sizes that I already had in my tool box. If you are buying this with the expectation that it will hold the glow plug in the removal and installation slot, DO NOT buy this.

Arrived on time unlike glow plugs (from another seller). It looks like it should work great but until glow plugs are available I can't test it. The glow plugs have arrived and this kit worked very well on 7 of the 8 glow plugs on my Duramax. This 8th glow plug needed a wrench due to gap issues. If they were made a little smaller in a 1/4" drive they would probably be perfect for me. Others may want the more torque available with it as it is currently fitted in a 3/8" drive.
