Great for steam gaming

I use this for gaming because my laptop is low on storage. It works great and my games run fast when playing from this disc. I'm so impressed that I'll probably get a 2TB version at some point and I'm hoping that they will come out with 3TB and maybe even 4TB models later on as games continue to expand and take up a lot of space these days. This drive is also very portable. and also durable.

Lasted a month and a half

It seemed like a good ride. Light, relatively strong, fairly fast. I placed it in my ventilated rack where the drive was never abandoned, bumped or damaged in any way. I loaded about 500GB of data on it and it became unrecognizable on my computer in less than 45 days. Tried multiple cables, different computers, and recovery software - but it looks like the drive just failed. The problem with re-moving so much data from different sources. I don't even want to think about that now. Just choose…

Test your speed now!

Excellent construction including a great cable that plugs into the USB3. On a Mac, read/write speeds of 530/460MB/s respectively are good, but only if the fast SSD cache buffer is free and "pre-erased" SSD storage is available. This is the only way SSD cards can overwrite previously erased data. Data was erased separately.pass and at that point the write speed drops to 6MB/s during preflush I once experienced this unusual behavior (all I was told that SSD) I was very happy with this 1TB device…

Pros
  • Easy to install
Cons
  • Empty

Stay away from this "deal". After formatting for my Mac, which failed on the first try, I ran a hard drive speed test. Read results are okay, but this drive doesn't even write 10MB/s consistently despite being advertised as 50x faster! With repeated tests, the hard drive speed gradually dropped to less than 2MB/s. It's completely useless for editing photos or videos, or even for a simple backup of my hard drive. I had to shell out an extra $30 to get a 1TB drive from Samsung or SanDisk.

  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Great little ride and fast too.

Great little drive and fast. It is very light and it seems that there is nothing in it. I'm assuming it's solid. I bought it because my old external hard drive failed and I lost all my photos I had on it (pre cloud) from 1999 to 2015. I'm still devastated by the loss. I've tried all sorts of recovery software, opened it up, plugged in a new SATA cable - and nothing. I feel better using an SSD, but I'll still backup everything to the cloud because they say there's next to nothing you can do if…

This is a cute drive for data storage

I needed space and was able to buy 6-8TB for the price of 1TB SSD. But I chose an SSD because I was fed up with mechanical drives. Usually in electronics it lasts 5 years if it lasts longer than 30 days, but hard drives are delicate and often fail recklessly. So 1TB for $125 was a viable option. If it works for a month, it will work reliably for a long time. This little USB-C power/data cable is on the front (the only thing I don't like about it), has a "sleep mode" but lots of fast reads and…

Seems solid and lightning fast

While I haven't tested the durability myself, the metal case feels solid, so this drive is perfect for tossing in your bag and not worrying about closing it to damage. It even comes with two cables: USB-C to USB-C for new laptops with USB-C ports, and USB-C to USB-A for most other devices that require an external SSD. It's also SO FAST! I can transfer huge files in just a few minutes. It even seems fast enough to play games or run programs. This is the perfect fast reliable 1TB drive at a much…

Not so fast, partner.

I've only had this 1TB model for about a week. I copied several folders ranging in size from 210GB to 2GB to the SSD. As expected, the smaller specimens were lightning fast. Larger copies (200GB) start quickly, the first 5GB in about 5 seconds, with an estimated copy time of 10 minutes, but the estimated copy time quickly increased to 2 hours as the copy speed dropped to an observed 0.01 GB/s or less . (I'm using a MacBook Pro, 2.9GHz 6-core i9, 32GB RAM, 2TB SSD.) Final copy time for 200GB was

2 years Great for external SSDs

I bought this product in November 2019, just came back as I'm building my own gaming PC and planning to get an internal TLC SSD grow and I wanted to see what type it is. Aside from that, I've had this particular SDD for 2 years now. I have absolutely everything. I'm a content creator and a full time student so I have 7+ months of recorded streams, games, all my school work for 2 years + other various large files that I use for video editing. This external SSD is holding up great and has 178GB…
