Slackware - Great Desktop Operating System

It's very easy to install, it doesn't have a lot of extra programs so you can actually learn how linux works. I'm using it for my server because it allows me to easily configure things without getting into the terminal. I've been playing around with it and I love Slack. I had some issues at first but they were all solved fairly quickly. There are a few problems with it. For instance the keyboard shortcuts are not so clear, but that's pretty minor. I'd recommend Slack if you're looking for a…

Pros
  • It doesn't have a lot of unnecessary features and bloatware
Cons
  • It's a very simple and easy OS to learn

Slackware is great for organizing files and keeping them safe!

I like that it's very easy to install on any computer, whether you're using Windows or Mac OS X or just your own PC. It also has some nice features such as being able to change settings for different users (I have my main user account set up so I don't need to worry about others messing around in my files). Also, when installing things, there are multiple ways to do them which can be confusing at first but get used to it. Sometimes, after doing something specific, nothing will work until…

Pros
  • Easy installation
  • Very customizable software without having too many problems with compatibility.
  • Great documentation available online
Cons
  • There are troubles

Slackware is an open source alternative with many benefits

I like that it's very stable (it doesn't crash often), but more importantly because its easy to install without much hassle or problems! It also has great support for multiple languages so you can do your work in whatever language suits best. The only thing about slackwares i dislike are their lack of updates sometimes; they stick pretty close to what was released years ago which makes them less appealing than other distros who update frequently etc.. However this isn't something really…

Pros
  • Great stability
  • Reliable software distribution system with no trouble getting new apps running.
  • Easy, friendly community forum where people usually reply promptly when asked questions pertaining OS issues &_or_ application installation difficulties.
  • Linux is generally better known by general public as opposed too Macs..but not always..(i'm looking forward into buying an iPad soon ; ) )
Cons
  • Not the best
