Recommended for DIY renovations

I broke a latch lever on a sliding glass door and was able to replace it myself. It took me longer to figure out what part I needed than to install a new latch. This new one holds. If I need another one I will definitely buy again.

Pros
  • High score for hold and durability from testers
Cons
  • Hard to say

Works πŸ‘πŸ» on fittings

Works with a sliding door in my house. I couldn't find it at local hardware stores. It's actually much better than the original sliding door. It is easy to install and functionally more reliable. This is a great product. I am very happy with my purchase.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • There are cons

Milgard classic mortise lock

poor quality Milgard mortise lock no longer works. Called Milgard for help and they told me they don't sell parts and referred me to their preferred resellers who were selling overpriced non-genuine parts. Instead, I chose Revain. Revain and this supplier saved the day with affordable replacement parts.

Pros
  • practical item
Cons
  • boring packaging

Replaced the 9/16 " latch, worked like clockwork.

The shorter of the two latches here (1 3/16) replaced the old 2005/2006 9/16 inch latch. Excess length is easily compensated for by the free space in the interface of the outer shell of the handle. My door is only 1 1/16 inches thick, which is much thinner than any Milguard doors I see online; they will probably be classified or hired as contractors.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Exactly what I needed

My sliding door latch broke and I couldn't find a replacement anywhere and thought I'd have to replace the whole handle. I found this bar and it fits just right, even better than the original bar because I wasn't sure if the longer shaft would fit. Arrived right away and is stronger and more durable than the original's shorter stem.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Minor issues

Correct size but thinner than the original

Correct size but made from a thinner material that feels weaker than the original. However, it fits, being thinner it wobbles a bit in the grip. Can provide full dimensions in description. If I buy it, I accept the fact that it is not an exact replacement. Works fine for now but I don't see it continuing.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Works great even if the wrong size!

The lock on my sliding door stopped working (inner lever didn't move up or down to lock). My husband wasn't home so I pulled the handle off the door to see if I could tell what the problem was. I immediately saw that the shaft of this lever, which enters the door, is broken. I haven't been able to find a grip online that would replace the current one (the screw holes seem to be oddly spaced). After visiting Lowes and researching the internet, on a whim I decided to give this lever a try, even…

Works great with an old Milgard doorknob

This is an inexpensive key that saved me $350. We have an old Milgard sliding patio door that is over 25 years old and the glass was replaced by a valuable non-Milgard owner so I no longer have a Milgard # to ask for a replacement. I spent a day at Lowes, Home Depot and a Milgard Authorized Reseller and no one could help me - they all didn't want a sale for me. The shop told me they would replace the entire lock and handle for $350. Very frustrating! I tried to glue it back together but it…

Pros
  • This is great

  • Some bugs

Easy fix to annoying problem

We have a Milgard sliding patio door that was installed in 1996 by a local glass company. In October 2020 the door lock stopped working and the door would not close. We tried to find help to resolve this issue but the calls either went unanswered or we were routed to others who also didn't answer. My wife went to Milgard.com and submitted her detailed online service request for help with an issue. We even thought of replacing the entire door! On 7/11/21 my wife found many videos and assembly…
