Excellent for learning basics such web hosting

Easy to learn, easy to set up with my Raspberry Pi3B+. I am able to create a basic server or desktop that can connect through SSH so even if you’re not sure about servers this is an excellent first experience. The interface could use some adjustments here and there but it has gotten me started down the right path! It was also very helpful being able to find tutorials online using their website as well. This allowed me to see what they did in order to get things working properly which lead me in

Pros
  • Easy
  • Good support team available via email
  • Tutorials are easily accessed for beginners like yourself.
  • Great community forum where others help each other improve
Cons
  • Almost never

Solus is a great OS for the price.: Solus

It has everything I need, plus some features that are not readily available in other OS’s of its caliber (ease of customization). My primary usage scenario was to host XBMC/Kodi as an OTA streaming server from our media PC box running OpenELEC. The software also allows me to use it like any other Linux distro with all my usual tools & apps installed. You can do almost anything you want if there's something out there written about how to accomplish what this particular task needs done - which…

Pros
  • Everything worked just fine right away
  • Very good support group via forum posts
  • Easy installation options through LiveCD + VMWare Workstation 8 Enterprise x86 ISO image download option provided by project members at website link below.
  • Can make changes quickly due ease of modification ability
Cons
  • There are disadvantages

Great experience migrating away form MacOS

I like that it's open source, but also has some of my favorite software built in (like Spotify). The UI could be better--it feels dated to me sometimes when trying out new things with this OS! But otherwise great so far; haven't had any issues yet since switching over from Windows 10 last week :) We're using solos primarily as our home server/media center machine at work which does all sortsa stuff including file serving via samba shares &amp hostname resolution among other fun tasks we have…

Pros
  • FreeBSD is known for being really stableOS runs smoothlyI think its interface was always quite nice looking even though somewhat old schoolUI looks modern enough compared to others now daysThe only real downside i've noticed up till know not having google chrome installed by default :(which makes sense considering ubuntu doesn't either anymore.but still wouldve been good if there were alternative browsers available..maybe someone knows? It'd
