Great idea, mediocre quality but definitely usable.

full metal body which is great. Put some machine oil on the screws. The 1/4 thread on the bottom is a screw-in metal adapter that tends to come loose. Tighten it or add some crazy glue. Feels solid enough but don't overload it. I mount a professional strobe on the side and a wireless transmitter on top for more range and RF protection from the strobe.

Broke on first use / great support got a refund / bought another one that was good

Just like others have reviewed it and said it was wobbly, mine was the same. The only difference was that my nut actually came loose. This was my first time installing it, so I'd say build quality isn't everything. another order is on the way. The second was great. 1/4 was safe. Excellent support staff.

Better than expected

Not sure if it would suit me but decided to give it a try. Now I can hook up a wireless audio receiver, light and pistol mic to my camera and everything will be neat and tidy. Basically a machined block of aluminum, it's a good size to accommodate a few attachments without being too big. The mounts have screw lock that allows you to mount cold shoe items on the side of the intended direction, which is handy when placing multiple items on the camera. VERY solid construction, poor umbrella holder.

I highly recommend purchasing a sturdy ball head or light pole mount that can be tilted with this unit. The design is such that when installed on a light stand you only have one orientation available - vertical. Like most viewers of this article, I bought this one to incorporate multiple torches into a single modifier. The device is well made and has a rather simple design, made entirely of metal.
