Combination square

This is a great combination square. First I bought a bare steel blade. It was very shiny and possibly more susceptible to rust. So for the price I wanted satin chrome. Easier to read. You get what you pay for.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • A few little things

Price = Starrett. Quality<=Port Freight

When the scale slides over the casting it looks like sliding the scale into a gravel bucket. I have an old, bent and rusty Craftsman combo angle, although it's no longer legible, it still slides smoothly over the cast.

Pros
  • Quality of construction
Cons
  • Not the best

dead on perfect This is Starret.

My collection of Starrett squares is by far the most important and used tool in my shop. All of them are beautifully made in the USA, easy to use, and offer measurement accuracy that improves build quality. Buy the best and never be disappointed.

Simply amazing and made right here in the USA

Simply amazing, what more can one say about Starrett and its products. Top quality and made right here in the USA. Be sure to get a satin finish blade as this will help with slight highlights. I originally ordered the standard blade and found that glare was a big issue in my business so I went back and ordered the satin blade.

Pros
  • A pleasure to use

Two buys, two misses

The first attempt a year ago for a 12 inch Starrette combination square (steel head - smooth steel ruler blade) had 17 holes in the ruler and an uneven head surface. This time I bought a 6 inch ruler (chromed steel head) and a washer that sits under the spring and has two lugs that fit the grooves but don't fit the grooves because they are too far from the alignment are removed. The washer sits at an angle to the full height of one of the bosses.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Big and bulky

MY DARLING! WORTH EVERY CENT

Most people planning to spend 125 per square meter already know what they are buying, so verification is not really necessary. But it's worth every penny. I just bought 4 inch and there are 12 inch. I also have some other Starrett stuff. I am a joiner and carpenter by trade and having quality tools means quality work. In my opinion there is no better start. You only need to buy the tool once. First of all for you and then for your children. GOOD DAY!

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • The list is getting long.

Great product, suitable for measuring and marking tools

Great product! Excellent workmanship. Excellent materials. All the good things people say about Starrett? they are true I have several of their products and have not had a single complaint. I can't even think of a better way to do things. Buying Starrett products is like taking a giant leap into the past, when you could buy tools that weren't mass-produced by Chinese slave labor, garbage and saliva, and then mortgaged to an indifferent public by places like Harbor Freight. One suggestion others

Pros
  • Country of origin: USA
Cons
  • Drill packaging

I bought a C33H-6-4R. This is a 6". -Combo angle made of hardened steel with a smooth finish This item is $118 with Revain Prime A couple of issues: The blade doesn't hold the tolerances as expected When I laid the blade flat on a surface I knew it would when it was within 0.002" of the strike (a human hair is 0.004"), I could wiggle it by pressing the corners with my fingers. There was also a visible bow. Also, the matte finish of the blade had obvious scratches and Signs of wear on the face…

Pros
  • Starrett 6" Combo Square with forged and hardened steel head, satin chrome blade and smooth black enamel
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
