Didn't last long on heaters

After initial installation, the heater was excellent, small size, good heat dissipation. I was very pleased. Unfortunately, the heating only worked for a few months. After a few months it only came on for a few minutes and then off for 10 minutes. This cycle further rendered the heater unusable as it did not stay on long enough to heat the room. Very disappointed with this product, it doesn't last long.

Pros
  • Annual trial period
Cons
  • Not fashionable

Works, but not great.

Installation was easy if you have electrical experience. If not, then hire someone. This thing doesn't connect to a solid wire. I installed a new GFCI switch for this because it was supposed to go to the laundry room. My biggest concern is that the temperature controls seem to move on their own. I put it on and it creeps in over time. Not a big deal but if you were gone 3 months it would be nice. I just glued it. I don't know, maybe it's a little vibration when the device is on.

  • Fingers crossed

Looks good and heats well

Well built and aesthetically pleasing heating element. I have this in a 180 square foot open plan home office. I use this in conjunction with a Honeywell line voltage thermostat, which works great. It has a knob on the side to regulate the heat, but I prefer to unscrew it all the way and leave it to the thermostat. I turned it off this morning and it was 54 degrees in my home office. Ten minutes later it rose to 71 degrees. It makes no noise when switched on and distributes the heat well.

  • Feels good

  • Expensive insurance

Great for midwest winter!

Great little heater! We have an unheated 13ft x 6ft (11ft with ceiling) foyer that was awful to use in sub-zero winter temperatures. We had to install this heater quite high up the wall because it was the only space available. I have a small ceiling fan on the opposite side of the room that runs in reverse to dissipate heat. My built in thermostat is set to 2 (which is the middle setting). We bought the 1500w version of the heater (110v version) because our existing wiring allowed it. It's -3…

Works great and is very quiet too.

That's good. I had a fanless panel heater in a room with a lot of windows and it was fine just to stay cool, but since this was my work place I wanted to be able to heat it up faster so I replaced the panel heater with this unit. This is supposed to be a hot plug but I ran a 12g extension so I can connect to a pluggable thermostat I already have (the unit actually recommends a dedicated circuit but since all my wires are 12g/ 20 amps, I decided that everything would be fine). It works great…

Best of all, my #1 product for heaters

I grew up in Germany so I know the high quality of Stiebel Elton products. My contractor installed several blocks, 1 pc. in various rooms in the house that are not used all the time. I LOVE the product. It was installed quickly and is still working perfectly after a year. Instead of heating the whole house, I can quickly heat one. To my surprise, it heats up my bathtub in less than 5 minutes. These heaters are loved by all family members and guests. Want to remove a small edge in the bathroom…

The wiring is hard to hide!

Absolutely terrible design. I'm stuck with this now because the electrician already installed it. At first I thought he installed it wrong. After reading the installation brochure, I called the company. In fact, one of their honest employees told me that the design leaves a lot to be desired. You bet. You can see the electrical work from above as all wiring has to be done from above. There is a gap of about 1 and 1/2 inches from the wall to the top of the block for airflow and ventilation. They

  • There are other interesting options.

Loud block suitable for heaters

the block makes a very annoying clicking noise when switching on and off. The sound level measured at the fan grille is 70 decibels, not 49 decibels. The exposed wireway next to the top of the heater for wiring is a major aesthetic downside to this unit, which you would otherwise buy for its clean, modern look. The heater heats up normally. Update 3/14/2020: I have modified this unit by moving the cable entry hole on the back down and into the part of the back panel that is closer to the wall…

We love this heater so far

We love this heater so far. We are using it on a 10 x 12 sundeck that we are converting into an art studio/craft room. For those wondering about the clearance: it should be 6-8 inches from the floor and then 4 inches or more from side walls/doors etc. However, the instructions also say 3 feet from anything or fuel (e.g. furniture, books etc.). , paper, clothes, curtains etc.} See attached image from the manual Hooking up the unit is definitely something for an experienced or professional - my…
