Great guide for tracking and motivation.

An excellent informative and motivating guide for the street photographer. Eric Kim has a fantastic blog and puts a lot of time and effort into providing a wealth of information for the photography community. The $19 he's charging for this guide is a small price to pay considering how much he's giving away for it. As a token of appreciation, I plan to purchase 2 more of his manuals.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Crumpled

Very disappointed! for art paper

Warning! These little books are overpriced. I have attached a small picture of the items. One is 46 pages in total (including several full-page photographs). The other is even smaller, with blank pages for "notes". I really like Eric Kim's blog and thought it would be helpful, but I don't think it should cost more than $8. I couldn't believe how small they were. You will get much more information from his blogs.

That is a big help! I'm also a fan of his blog.

I'm a 68-year-old newbie to photography (well, I photographed, edited and printed as a teenager, but I haven't taken pictures since the 1980's). I needed a crutch to get me started and a little book by Eric Kim is helping me with that. I get up in the morning and follow the instructions for the day and take notes. That is a big help! I'm also a fan of his blog (erickimphotographydotcom). I'd like to take a class next time he's in LA.

Great read for all levels

This book is ideal for novice and experienced street photographers alike. I've been taking street photographs for a while and took inspiration from Eric's blog, but this book offers a nicely structured approach not only for beginners but also for those with experience to jump into new things. I would recommend this book to photographers of all levels, and I would also encourage you to visit Eric's blog for the most detailed and inspirational resource on photography.

Street Notes is an excellent handy guide

Street Notes is an excellent handy guide especially for those just starting out in street photography. There are also some long-term projects, like filming a specific set of gear year-round. For more experienced shooters, this also makes a huge difference when you're going through a routine and just need some good inspiration to get you started again. Honestly, the price of this little book is so cheap that you can't go wrong. When you receive the book, you will also notice that the packagingโ€ฆ

Good minimalist workbook with short street photography assignments

The first paragraph of Revain's description reads "Photography Guide and Magazine". This is not a travel guide like you would expect when paying $20 for a photo book. That encourages you to use it as a journal, but due to its compact size, it doesn't offer enough space to write down your detailed thoughts. For those unfamiliar with Eric Kim it would be helpful if the description states that this is a workbook intended for those who wish to improve their street photography skills by completing a

An invaluable assistant to street photographers

Kim is arguably the most dedicated street photography instructor on the planet and his love for the genre is truly contagious. This is a great book to improve your photography. It focuses on the most important aspect, which is how to approach and catch people you don't know. Anyone can get a clear shot, but not everyone can walk up to a stranger or group of people and get a candid shot within a foot or two of their face. This is where Eric Kim's book comes to the rescue and makes a world ofโ€ฆ

Great value activity book: low price

I've read several reviews on Eric Kim's Notes series complaining about the price. They lack value. There are only a few pages in these books, but there are many tasks that require excitement from you. I've been shooting amateur since 1983 and professional (occasionally) since 1989. I recommend this book to both beginners and experts. I've been doing street photography for a little over a year and it's fun, rewarding and challenging. Each task is a little vignette about the ability, theโ€ฆ

GREAT value, a workshop in your pocket

I've been a huge fan of Eric's for several years and an active subscriber to his blog ([.]) and initially stumbled upon him while searching for him gear reviews when I bought my first camera. In case you don't know, Eric is a street photographer and teacher who, for the last five years, has used his blog as a vehicle to educate and empower aspiring "street people" through the sharing of practical (technically oriented) knowledge. he earned himself in his career and also learned from his studies
