Terrible write speed in real world test

I tested this first and the read/write speeds were amazing. After using it for a real transfer and 5 minutes to write, I realized that the SSD was going to be the bottleneck. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who needs it for video editing, as a video editor, timing is everything.

Pros
  • High support and durability ratings from testers
Cons
  • Socket required

Don't make this mistake.

I use Teamgroup all the time and have never had any problems. This disc is really useless. As another reviewer said, there is an issue with the drive turning off when you touch it. The outer casing somehow closes the disc. It can't hold the speed at all and falls below most mechanical drives. It's just a poorly built drive.

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Volume

Not recommended for TeslaCam

It works fine for normal laptop plugging and unplugging, but consistently fails on TeslaCam. This worked for a few weeks and then I got a Tesla error for reformatting. I ended up just going with a flash drive, which works great, so it's definitely not a machine.

Pros
  • Slightly above
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Turns itself off - useless for backup - +$100 paperweight

Purchased for backup and file transfer. 30 days after the return period has expired, it does not work properly and disconnects the USB connection about every 10 minutes. If the computer does not recognize the disk, it can use it.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • May damage

DOA -- bad connection

It's good that it's portable, but not so portable that it can't communicate. I was hoping it was just the cable that came with it, but I tried both cables that came with it AND one of my own. The drive was recognized for all three, but then disappeared again, was then recognized again and then disappeared from the computer again. I was only able to maintain a solid connection by holding the cable to the connector in the correct position. Obviously that doesn't work. I returned it.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • Doesn't go well with everything

A "reliable " drive for all your demanding requirements.

If you're looking for a compact external solid state drive that feels good, be sure to check out this offering from TEAMGROUP. I've only had mine a few weeks so time will tell but for now he can handle anything I've thrown at him. I was looking for a high capacity SSD to use as a backup boot clone for Apple High-Sierra and I was able to do that with the PD400 with ease. When I received it the drive was formatted as ExFAT (for PC) so I used Apple's Disk Utility to repartition the drive with the…

The drive has a crazy problem

After extensive testing on Linux, the stated speed is no exaggeration. It's good. It's also small and cheap, which is nice. However. He kept breaking up with me. At first it seemed like it was just a bad USB connection or cable, but then I realized it happens *anytime* I touch it. Even when I'm lying perfectly still on the table, a slight flick of my finger across the top of the table turns it off, and it always will. In other words, the outer metal case is electrically connected to the…
