    Quality finish, easy installation

Nine of these used to cover the recessed LED lights in the attic. Although the lamps claimed to be able to be installed in direct contact with the insulation, I noticed that on very cold nights in the mornings, condensation formed on and around the lamps in the room. I bought these covers and installed them on the headlights. I covered everything with thermal insulation and the next cold night there was no condensation at all on the headlights. These cases fit perfectly even in hard-to-reach…

Great, I would buy them again.

I have 15 built in lights in a part of the country that gets up to 115 degrees Fahrenheit for up to a month in the summer. A spot infrared thermometer tells me the fixtures are 10 degrees hotter than the adjacent ceiling. I wanted something fireproof to replace newspaper stacks. I had to use a knife to score the sides of the 10 matte cones to fit the cones onto the recessed mounts to get a good enough seal. I used Home Depot styrofoam caulk to seal the cut gaps and glue them to the floor. After

Easy to install 'if' the electrician installed the fixture correctly

Easy to install 'if' the electrician installed the fixture correctly. However, some "glasses" (like mine) can rest directly against the ceiling joist, making this a real problem. Not impossible, but it does require a lot of custom trimming. PS I feel like there is a paradigm when it comes to isolating non-IC rated lamps. I replaced the old 65W incandescent bulbs with equivalent 11W LEDs. The heat difference is significant. I can leave these LEDs on for hours and change the bulb without even…

Easy to place on top of recessed lighting

I insulated the attic to reduce gas bills. We had several non-IC bulbs that needed to be covered. I covered most with Insullite boxes because they are cheaper. But where jars were more difficult to close due to cramped/difficult access I have used them. It's much easier to work with them. They are soft and pliable, but sturdy enough not to collapse. They are surprisingly easy to cut with scissors to attach wires etc and they keep their overall shape. In other words, even if the Tenmat coating…

    easy, quick and clean

Exactly what I was looking for. I saved a lot of money by buying and installing a floor lamp without IC. See my other reviews of them, they worked great. Initially I tried to move something and it was fine, but it didn't look pretty. When I discovered this product I was excited to try them. The installation takes about 3 minutes. I glued my Romex and swept the area around the lantern. Put the lid on like you would for a grill dome. The installation-free filling pulled up to the caps and that's…

    Design stopped!: Cases

I saw a product demo online and decided to buy this one. The install is pretty easy other than the fact that you are lying in the attic, kneeling over and hot and squeezing out your own puddle of sweat, other than that they would be simple as shown in the product demo where the guy stands upright and can do this do without interference. I measured the temperature before and after, so it's at least 10° colder than another in in an uninsulated state. From uninsulated you feel the ray of radiant…

Easy to install if you are tall

These parts are a great solution to prevent heat loss from unsealed recessed lighting. must have sufficient beam depth over the banks. In my case, I had 18" joists and was replacing an entire drywall ceiling that had been damaged by a leaking roof. These lightweight lids meant I didn't have to replace half a dozen Halo cans. to reattach a tight, well-insulated ceiling. These lids are surprisingly easy to put on. They can be severely deformed to crush in tight spaces and still rely on rebounding

I assume they work - Electrical

I haven't tested air infiltration or heat loss with a thermal camera since I've donned it, but I think given how they're made, at least they will help something. I have about 25 ceiling lights in my small house, they are all IC certified. If you've ever used them, while they're designed for direct contact with insulation, they're far from airtight. I was hoping this would help in that regard and also prevent dust from getting into the house from the attic insulation. nearly nothing. The…

Important information not listed in the product description

These covers are easy to fit. The difficulty is not in the product but sometimes in how your lightboxes are set up. Sometimes the light block is close to the truss and you need to trim the cover to fit. Because of this, some of my covers touch light cans. Not sure if this is a fire hazard or not. What is more important to me to note is that the product description does not state what is on the note that is included in the packaging. It states "Do not use CFLs!” and "Use lamp types and wattages…
