Can't beat it for the price, just wish they actually made it 1U. It's about 2/3 of the actual 1U size, giving you a little rack space when using it. Also, it would be nice to be able to press a button to change inputs instead of having to buy an extra 30ft repeater cable to mount the selector on my desktop. Because of the price and the fact that it works without any issues, I really can't rate it below 4 stars.

USB ports aren't getting enough power on some keyboards

USB ports aren't getting enough power. USB mice aren't power hungry enough for that, but some USB keyboards are hungry. Unfortunately, this includes clickable M models; Results range from a keyboard that won't initialize at all, to looping when trying to initialize and failing halfway, to borderline running and crashing when actively moving the mouse. Plugging a powered USB hub between the USB port on the KVM and the keyboard gets the damn thing working, but it would be much more convenient if…

Works well but uses a scary red LED

Works very well but I have to complain that the LED they use is RED! Every time I walk past a server rack, I see a bright red LED out of the corner of my eye and I panic, thinking something is wrong with my servers. They really should have used a blue LED. Other than that, it's great.

I was ready to be disappointed. I was not! Excellent Quality

I needed a cost effective solution to go beyond my 4 port KVM. for my windows and linux boxes. - Connectors have long (yellow) screw extensions that are easy to reach with your fingers in tight spots. - It comes with a cute little wired remote control box that you can place on your desk or anywhere convenient. - Has stand mounts. - Nicely packaged - Great value for money Cons: - Cables are a bit short, I had to mount them in the middle of my 42U cabinet - Overall a good value look. but it was…

Not worth the money

Ghosting from all 16 ports is also just switching between channels is done using the buttons on the unit or the included IR remote control. There's no keyboard shortcut to switch between channels, at least I haven't found it yet. Bought to set up a mass install station where I can work on 16 computers at the same time. There was a 50/50 chance the device would display videos during Windows setup. Once Windows is installed, video streaming will resume. Spend a little more money to get better KVM

  • It's a pleasure

  • Not everything is as good as it is written

Can't add anything new

Others have mentioned this before so I'm not adding anything new here. It works exactly as you would expect. It features 4 USB inputs (2 front, 2 rear), optional separate push button controls that can be mounted elsewhere, and includes everything except mounting screws. Excellent value for money and quality. But there are two obvious things that need changing: 1) The included cables are short, only reaching about 2/3 the full height of the rack and hanging down. When you factor in something…

Ideal small rack KVM. nearly.

Looking for a Rackmount KVM, wanted 8 ports, easy controls, 1U, good value, cables included, non-intrusive, no drivers or hotkeys. Just press the button and it switches. That's almost what I got. The cables are a good length and include USB to unused VGA cable wires. This ensures a very clean installation and simplifies the wiring. Overall this is a great device and I am very happy with it. Now to the problems: First, it's not 1u, it's less; about 2/3. It's not a problem for me as it sits right

I really like the junction box

The device works great. I've used all 8 ports and love the remote control. I have it right under the keyboard and it's very handy. It lights up enough to always know which computer I'm connected to, and switching is quick. I particularly like the option of working with a wireless mouse. Some cables were longer than the cables that came with it. I've tried replacing the old blocks with long cables, but the wiring isn't the same anymore. However, I found that the video cable is the same, so I…
