This has to be one of the best feeders I've ever bought. A few feed stones are good and the feeder is so obtrusive that I didn't need to read the instructions. The color leaves a lot to be desired, but you don't buy it for the color. It is easily adjustable and easy to refill. I would and will buy again.

I have had several automatic feeders with a hinged lid. While they did their job and I was happy with them, this feeder is better. There's more control over how much food (cereal or chips) is ejected, and they rotate so the dispensing opening is at the top. No more moisture! Plus, I don't have to struggle to turn the tumbler on or off.

WORST WRITTEN GUIDE I HAVE READ. I have 2 colleges so I can read but there is NO guide! The illustrations are limited and have nothing to do with the structure of the damn thing. THREE PEOPLE - all with higher education - took 3 hours to find out. So much food fell out on first use that I had to drain 1/3 of the water to save my fish. Tomorrow I'm going on vacation and I'll hire a neighbor to feed my fish.

This is a great feeder. It has a very diverse portion control. I originally bought for my frying tank but bought another for my larger tank. I shred my cereal to be a similar size and reduce my portion choices to a fairly small size. I wanted to make sure my fish were getting a consistent amount of food without overfeeding. The downside to this product is that the machine itself determines how much of it falls and this is definitely not a system that will produce the same result every time. The main problem is preset pieces that actually fall and don't roll. The granules or flakes of the system are defective. It took me a long time to set the scheduled feeding time, the instructions are almost illegible. You have to make the numbers appear in the box after setting the time (see before and after pictures. Still not sure why the number 3 appears in all four boxes). The manual knob works, but only makes one turn of the barrel, as opposed to the automatic adjustment, which makes 3 turns. Received this for the holiday and has been quite busy, I have a fish or two that are around 18 years old. ! I was away for two weeks and it worked out great. I leave it on for two more weeks and it's still working. Secrets of a successful holiday: the scales should be the same size. If it's a brand new jumbo flake fish food container, squeeze it down to a smaller uniform size. 3/4 inch flakes can block the effects and cause a small serving for the day. It's fairly easy to use, attaches to the side of the tank and the drum rotates to dispense feed. Programming was a bit strange, but I didn't read the manual carefully either, so I can't say it's the product. Can feed 4 times a day but mine is programmed to feed 2 times a day, once early morning and once in the evening.
