Everything was fine until the keyboard USB stopped working

First, the price was great. I have a home server rack and wasn't willing to shell out over $1,000 for a high-end setup. Everything worked fine the first time it was set up. When you press a button for each connected device, a beep sounds as feedback. I was able to easily install it in my rack. Make sure you buy the right cables that support your monitor and keyboard in one cable. Now after a few months the keyboard connector is not working. I can hook up a keyboard to the front of any machine…

Multiple Computers, One Monitor, One Keyboard, One Mouse

Own more computers than you own monitors, keyboards and mice. Check this item, you can add up to 8 computers to a monitor, keyboard and mouse by connecting one end of the supplied cables to the back of the device and the other end of the cable to your computer's VGA monitor port and the other connect cable to USB port and do the same for most other computers. Now you can press the button under each light on the corresponding computer and you are in control. A cosmic scent, this item works great

it's not bad but I'd look elsewhere

The best KVM can hope for is to work and generally go unnoticed. that is not true. Problems I encountered: - The mouse, which I no longer use most of the time. the keyboard is fine - it requires a reboot every now and then when it doesn't even recognize the keyboard, which is made even more inconvenient as it draws power from the attached PCs in addition to the included wall spice, so you'll have to unscrew every connection on the back . It does not come with any of the computer-side cables. Of

Find another KVM for HPE DL380 G9 Server.

HPE ProLiant DL380 9th Gen Server TrendNet 803r KVM model with 8 USB/PS2 and VGA ports. switch views. However, after a few minutes the front panel buttons become unresponsive and later the scroll keyboard lock method - you need to power cycle the KVM to restore functionality. I have disabled any wireless USB mice or keyboards per their support policies. PS/2 mice and keyboards used their own cables for USB and VGA, and only used standard VGA cables with no USB connection for a shared keyboard…

Doesn't work with modern servers.

These will not work with HP 9th and 10th generation servers. I contacted support and with no explanation simply stated that none of their devices work with these servers. As this is probably the main use case for such an element; I find it misleading that this constraint is not clearly stated in the element. To be clear, KVM runs during POST, but once Windows boots up, the screen signal goes blank - no signal. No combination of display drivers will solve the problem.

Pros
  • nice thing
Cons
  • you could choose a newer model

Switch works as expected, USB output on one of the computers is mouse/keyboard only. Is this switch suitable? It depends on your use cases, but for 8 inputs it can seem a bit disappointing when you can get something used on ebay for a few hundred more which is much, much more powerful. Get this if you need something cheap but if you plan on integrating it with say Avocent-Dell's KMM or want something better, save up for something used on eBay where the value proposition is much better…

Broken Garbage Pile.

I hate, I hate, I hate, I hate this thing. It doesn't come with cables, so you'll lose another $80 buying TRENDnet cables. Now after paying $200 I can't get the keyboard to work. KVM always shows a flashing green light; Pressing any key on the keyboard resets the switch on Console 1, but even then I can't transfer the keys to the connected PC. TRENDnet provides absolutely no helpful documentation or support. After spending 5 hours troubleshooting I'm back with this Office Space style thing. Do…

The TK-803R v1 of this unit is terrible

This KVM is basically unusable and unreliable. I was so excited that I could finally get a good KVM solution for my server rack. After a simple setup and connection, I thought everything would be a breeze! The system crashed after 3 days. This wouldn't be such a problem if it had a power button on the front. As it turns out you have to unplug ALL power cords (including the PSU of course AND ALL USB/monitor cables coming from the back) to turn off the power. Being a server rack between two full…

easy setup, suitable for KVM switches

Bought this KVM switch to switch between development PC, gaming PC and work laptop . Pros: Works as intended, easy setup, shortcuts to flip screens. Good design, light. Responsive technical support. Cons: DVI cables have two small dots above the slots. very annoying when most PC adapters do not allow this. You CANNOT use any adapter hardware between KVM and PC without the resolution dropping significantly. The resolution I get from the KVM switch is worse than the same monitor connected…

One of them arrived DOA. Not a very good start; away with a star. It might have been more if there had been other issues but getting a replacement was easy and the replacement just works. Interface. This KVM switch also supports PS/2 keyboard and mouse, which means it works great with a KVM-over-IP device, allowing me to easily control my systems from a local console or remote control. All machines are USB based, but the KVM-over-IP device supports both; Unfortunately it supports USB as most…
