and easily justified if you plan to include them in your .

These modules immediately picked up my Ubiquiti EdgeSwitch and EdgeRouter. Very cost-effective for those looking to work with SFP and fiber in their home lab, and easily justified if you plan to deploy them in your data center or enterprise.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Some little things

Easy to install, increase internal speed!

I recently decided to upgrade our network switches for fiber optic connections. This has significantly increased the speed of our internal network. (shared files, etc.) Our Cisco switches were really just plug and play. Note that some managed switches have an Ethernet port that is identical to a fiber optic port. If you are both connected, it will fall into the network and cause all sorts of problems (which it did in my case).

Pros
  • understandable even for the old ones
Cons
  • negative is present

Easy to connect, works great!

I can't believe how easy it was to connect the fiber. I use them to connect two network switches that are about 500 feet apart. It was plug and play with no programming. Make sure the cables, SFP module, and hardware specifications match.

Pros
  • great product
Cons
  • Not sure

Stable GBIC and good price.

I ordered them for Cisco Meraki fiber optic switches. There were no problems with these modules. They say you might have trouble contacting Meraki tech support since it's not part of Cisco, but you'll worry about it when the time comes. The price difference between this and the Meraki is worth the headaches I may or may not have. Approximately 60 Cisco Meraki APs have been installed and there are no issues with inter-building fiber connections using these GBICs.

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent
Cons
  • Nothing

Very important! in network products

They are great. Finally there is a third party module that actually works with Cisco hardware as advertised. It's very early days but they seem to work fine with both the SG300-10P and SG300-28P. The fact that they cost 1/3 the cost of "Cisco" modules is a huge bonus!

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Doubt

They are needed to connect two Cisco SG200 with fiber optic cable.

These are for connecting two Cisco SG200's with fiber in a building to a building line. It works perfectly and has been for a while. More expensive modules are not required if your switch can use them.

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Good quality LC module

For my media converter with an open SFP slot I had to choose a reliable branded SFP module - I chose TRENDnet and it fits perfectly. After I connected the module to my media converter, the link appeared immediately, with no packet loss and no lag.

Pros
  • As everything so far
Cons
  • No paint required
