Description of TrickleStar Advanced 7 Outlet Energy Saving PowerStrip: Surge Protector with 2160 Joules and 4 Foot Cord

Ceramic encased Metal Oxide Varistor components provide greater surge protection for equipment and eliminates the risk of dangerous fires during abnormal surge conditions. Easy to install and provides simple automation to reduce wasteful standby energy consumption.

Excellent product for device automation

Excellent product. This is especially good because you can set a threshold switch. I used this in a mame arcade cabinet. When the computer is turned on at the control output, the green outputs automatically turn on the control lamps, audio amplifier, LCD display, etc. When the computer is turned off at the control output, all green outputs turn off automatically. It made my arcade cabinet more original. Thanks very much!

It didn't work - Accessories and supplies

This was purchased to allow my TV to turn my audio system on and off. The television consumes 39 watts in standby mode and 172 watts in operation. This device will not turn off a slave outlet when 39 watts are present through the master outlet. Yes, I have tried all the settings. The lack of detailed specifications in the literature makes such problems inevitable. We need to know the number of watts (or amps) required to turn on the slave outlets in each of the three settings.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons

Unique power distribution

Simple! Simply plug the computer's power cord into the "Control" jack, then connect your peripherals to the appropriate green jacks and adjust the sensitivity. Then, when you turn on the computer, it senses the need for power and automatically turns on other outlets. I have a label printer, an external DVD drive and my computer desk burns with these connectors. My only complaint (and even a minor one) is that there are only 4 green plugs and when transformers are plugged in they block access to

Very useful extension cord

I use this extension cord in my wood shop where a power tool is plugged into a control outlet and a dust extractor is plugged into a switched outlet. Whenever the power tool is switched on, I know that the mobile dust extractor is also starting up. Before purchasing this strip, I sometimes forgot to turn on the extractor, resulting in a lot of cleaning. The strip has the added benefit of having extra outlets that are always on. There are 4 sockets with a switch which I would probably never use.

Questionable quality for surge protector

I have this one and 1080 J. At the moment this one doesn't impress me at all and I've only had it since 10th September 2020. My TV is a remote control and the soundbar and the Subwoofers are plugged into switchable outlets. Yesterday I turned on the TV and the soundbar/sub wouldn't turn on, I had to disconnect and reconnect the panel. It worked. I just turned the TV x2 on and off and the soundbar/sub won't turn on. My threshold is set too high. I don't know what the problem is. Oh, and before I

Works great as long as you're smart

My installation: Vizio TV on a sensor socket. Soundbar and Nvidia Shield on switched outlets. I loved being able to say "Hey Google, turn on the TV" thanks to my sign, but once the novelty of it wears off, it's not exactly useful. The final straw was that it would turn on the TV randomly, with no Google Home input, it would just wake up, which would wake the TV and soundbar. I finally found out when it came on shortly after we left the house and stayed on until we got home TEN DAYS LATER. Good…

This TS1003 vs. the more common TS1104 listing

This TrickleStar TS1003 has a 4ft cord vs 2ft for the similar and more common Revain listing - TS1104. It also absorbs twice as much pulse energy as TS1104. With the Denon AV receiver AVR-S950H, the switching works as expected. I had to set the switch sensitivity to the middle position so that it would turn off when the AVR went into standby. The unit appears to be larger in width and depth than it needs to be (by far the largest seven outlet strip I've come across unless it was an equipment…

For those who have problems.

I read a lot of reviews on here before buying this one and a lot of them said the switched outlets wouldn't turn on. Mine didn't work at first either. Here's how I got mine to work: it took me a bit of fiddling to find the right setting for the load switch, I think mine actually turned out to be the opposite of the TV start up instructions, but start by turning one end on the setup . Observe the "switched" light when you turn on the trigger device. If the light switch does not turn on, try the…
