Did you know that surge protectors will eventually burn out?

I was surprised to learn that network filters burn through. Yes, they can usually take a lot of small hits, but the hits add up and suddenly the defense stops working. So I decided on new voltage stabilizers since ours were quite old. One of the comparison sites I checked was thewirecutter(dot)com. As of 12/1/15, the Tripp-Lite TLP1008TEL Surge Protector is the top recommended surge protector. To be honest, thewirecutter tells you that they get paid when someone clicks on a seller's link on…

    Automatic switch-off function!

First off, I'm the type of person who spends hours reviewing a product to make sure I'm getting the best. The Tripp Lite 10 was mentioned on several review sites and was in the top three (3) most of the time, so I decided to give it a try. I bought it for our new set of power seats. A furniture salesman told me to get one of those "battery packs" that need to be charged every week and only get 200-500 tilts in a period. I figured it looked like work and I'd be upset if I forgot to charge it, so

I bought this Tripp Lite surge protector for our home theater which consists of a TV, Blu-ray player, Xbox, A/V receiver, cable box and a WLAN router. I have not used any Tripp Lite products before, I mostly relied on what was cheaper at the "Big Box" store down the road. A quality surge protector was the obvious thing. During my research I came across a website called "WireCutter" which has an article "Best Network Filter" which is extremely informative. I recommend checking it out if you want

Check for $2500 from Tripplite to replace

Tripplite sent me a check for $2500. I've experienced a surge that got past Tripplite Ethernet's protection (I don't get small surges in my house, they're always very large and will fry a few things below the point of entry if they can. Other brands haven't protected either. I wouldn't say it's a bug tripplite, just my crazy flash situation). My computer was initially connected to both this protector and a router protected by a separate tripplite over ethernet. They found a fault in the…

    Gives Peace of Mind

I needed a new surge protector for my new computer. Tripp Lite is known for this. I had an Isobar from them that I use and it was solid and all, but the problem is that it acted as protection and was just a simple power strip after that. The fact that he was constantly losing energy meant I was never overly motivated to replace him. This will turn off the power if the protection is used to the point where it no longer provides protection. It may be uncomfortable, but who said the second squall…

work normally; just wish they were new!

Apparently I'm not the first owner. After we set fire to another brand's power strip I did some research and decided to buy six of these Tripp Lite power strips because once they stop protecting they won't work (instead of the light just going out) . They are quite large and have phone jacks which we don't need, but security was my main concern. When I was ready to replace all of our existing extension cords I began pulling them out of their boxes and was dismayed to see that each one had small

The surge protector failed BUT THE SUPPORT FROM THE COMPANY WAS GREAT!

The Tripp-lite Surge Protector plugged into a properly grounded 3-prong wall outlet and was then used to power a cable modem, gaming laptop, router and gigabit switch. A thunderstorm ruptured the cable modem's power supply and melted its internal parts. All the devices listed, as well as the MF printer connected to the laptop with a printer cable, did not work. I was about to throw everything away when I noticed the Tripp-lite guarantee. I then submitted (and documented) the details of my loss…

Clamping voltage for accessories and consumables

Do you want to protect your new computer? Are you looking for "Best Surge Protectors Lists" to find one that has the best clamping voltage at a good price? Were you told that this product has a clamping voltage of 150V? It's not like this. It has a clamping voltage of 400 which is not very good. Please note that on this page you will not find a single mention of the clamping voltage, which is the only important specification when purchasing a surge protector for your computer. You have to jump…

Totally Worth IT on Accessories & Consumables

Although I bought this item a while ago I knew it would be some time before I actually wrote a review. The purpose of my purchase was to protect my gaming rig which consists of a 39 inch flat screen, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Vizio sound stand and finally a DVD player. For some strange reason, there were occasional power outages, so I felt the need to protect my investment. So far I have no complaints at all. After about 10-15 power outages, all my devices are still working great and the surge…
