A cheap Type K thermocouple was just that. CHEAP

On the third use the tip of the probe fell apart and the sensor became inaccurate thereafter. The probe's tip metal is so thin it can't withstand 210°F, which is the highest temperature it's ever seen!

Pros
  • Temperature and Humidity
Cons
  • Doubtful

Neat NPT thread - fiberglass insulated wire

Good thermocouple for the price. The NPT thread isn't too bad and doesn't leak even under pressure. Definitely good value for money. The wire has fiberglass insulation, which is a plus when you're working in warmer or cooler temperatures.

  • Industrial & Scientific

Decent NPT thread - fiberglass insulated wire

Not a bad thermocouple for the price. The NPT thread isn't too bad and doesn't leak even under pressure. Definitely good value for money. The wire has fiberglass insulation, which is a plus when you're working in warmer or colder temperatures.

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

This is not a K type thermocouple, this is an E

The product worked fine after using the thermocouple color code table to determine it was type E and recalibrating my temperature PID controller for type E (black and red wire). When the PID controller was set to type k, it read 122 degrees F, but the actual temperature was 106.2. Overall quality was fine, they should have been labeled Type E instead.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
