I expected more signal gain from the shape

Nanobeam AC 19db received a better signal by 3db. In exactly the same position after alignment, my results were: Lightbeam (-69/-68) Nanobeam (-66/-65) This could be a good budget option for a CPE close to the tower, but no more than 4km. After that, the signal drops and the speed becomes obscenely low. After further research I found out that the light beam has a slower processor and less dRam than the nano beam. I was disappointed. I suspect that the poor performance is mainly due to the small

These things are amazing!

My fiancé's parents don't have high speed internet access in their house. The cable car terminus is half a mile downhill at the grandparents' house. Since this stop is a family stop, we were able to place a LiteBeam at each end. After playing with it at home for a few hours I felt comfortable installing it. Achieved communication quality "Good" and a transmission rate of 140 MBit/s in one direction and 120 MBit/s in the other direction. The best internet package available is 60 Mbps. At the…

Great antennas - fairly easy setup

In short, good. I have 110 megabytes of internet at home and now I also have 110 megabytes of internet at my business which is 405 feet away and separated by almost 200 feet of planted pine trees. The trees are planted in rows and line of sight between the LiteBeams through the trees is approximately 7 feet. Without much careful aiming, I ended up with a 302MB antenna-to-antenna connection, which is way more than I need to carry my 110MB internet stream. I am very satisfied with LiteBeams…

Awesome connection!

I've had two of these in a couple of weeks. Only three hundred feet apart so I cannot vouch for remote capabilities. But at least at my distance, they exceed the rated speed of 450 megabytes. No dropped packets, low latency. Worked well in sub-zero temperatures. Submit this review above them.

Overkill for 200ft but works great.

I use a pair of these to connect the internet to my shop 200 meters from my house and they work great. I have never used Ubiquiti products but found them easy to set up by following the online instructions. I have them on the lowest radio settings as I don't transmit that far and they never miss a beat and I just pointed them in the general direction and haven't lined them up exactly yet. I checked their power consumption and found that on the lowest wireless settings they use about half the…

Pros
  • Glitter
Cons
  • Negative Gift

Starting with the AC radio series and gradually returning to older devices, the somewhat ubiquitous proliferation made it clear that that's all they care about about their small customers and that they don't care about hobbyist or enthusiast end users. By removing support for standard 802.11 connections and requiring both host and client devices to use the Air Max, they've effectively lobotomized their entire line and rendered them unusable for most people who kept them afloat in the beginning…

Amazing performance and super beautiful app!

These amazing things! I ran 180 feet Cat6 straight burial into the woods behind my current home and up a tree about 20 feet. We just built a new house on the same lot about ¼ mile up the hill surrounded by woods. I connected the 1st LiteBeam to the router in the downstairs house and then mounted it to the tree by bolting it to the 2x4 and piping it to the tree. I hooked up a second LiteBeam to a router at our new house on the hill (see photo) and ran 60ft of Cat6 to our utility pole. The…

Another excellent device from Ubiquiti

Preface: This review is by no means a guarantee that you will get the same results. but I've established a RELIABLE 655Mbps connection (>400Mbps actual sustained throughput!) through a few trees with ZERO radio drops! Ping *excellent*: <1ms per link. Before I bought them, I struggled to find much information or testimonials from people using them to communicate about trees. In fact, almost everyone I spoke to (despite the fact that I knew a relatively close distance) insisted I couldn't…
