Slow, slow, slow and unreliable

1MB/s write speed direct to USB3 port. In comparison, a sub-$5 Microcenter impulse buy circa 2010 running through a hub is 8x SLOWER than a USB2 device. Same medium, not just the same type. A 16GB write takes about 4 hours compared to 30 minutes for a standard USB2. Eight hours for two simultaneous 16GB writes, in which case neither worked properly.

Great card reader for my needs.

Great card reader for my desktop setup. I have a small desktop computer and very little desk space, so I wanted an SD card reader that I can leave plugged in and that doesn't take up much desk space. All requirements were thus fully met. I needed a short (1ft) USB cable to get to the USB ports on the back of the computer. By adding an extra cable I was able to attach the card reader to the top of the computer with double sided tape. It is easily accessible, does not take up space, is hardly…

So far I'm very impressed

I bought this product because I wanted to easily transfer my music library from I Tunes to my Android phone. So far I'm very impressed. I have an SD card reader connected to my Imac (with the latest version of Yosemite as the operating system). Then I inserted a 120 GB micro SD card into the reader. There was no installation process and no map search. An untitled drive showed up in my Finder, and it was as easy as dragging and dropping files. I named the folder "Music" on the SD card and…

Universal SD Card Reader: Works with all types of SD cards

This is an excellent SD card reader. I was trying to transfer old photos from used phones from 10 years ago. The phones feature Transflash slots, Micro SD slots, and regular slots. The card reader can read them all instantly and download the files without corruption or failed attempts. Previously, all file transfers were a very fast process and the data was saved. Photos look even better on a computer than on old flip phones. This is a great product for those interested in a multipurpose SD…

Works as advertised and immediately recognized by Windows 10 with no configuration or driver installation required. Easily reads old class SD cards and new micro SD class 10 cards. At around the same price as a USB 2.0 reader, there's no point in buying anything other than a USB 3.0 reader as it is backward compatible with older computers that you can use. times faster than my USB 2.0 reader. Files appear instantly on the screen, and images and videos open at lightning speed compared to my USB…

Cool little gadget!

Bought a new HP workstation. This HOG weighs 50 pounds and has it's own zip code, it's so BIG! I forgot two things when ordering: Bluetooth capability and an SD card reader. I had neither and had a mild panic attack (not really!). I had a friend tell me there were portable SD card readers that I had never heard of and why would I do that when my last computer had one and I never had to look for a portable one? Then I find it a little precious! For $10 I now have the option of having an SD card…

Unique design that does what it's supposed to.

It works great reading my micro and full size SD cards. I've tried some cheaper devices with mixed results. USB 3.0 speed is a big plus. The main reason I chose this device was its flat top. I needed something that I could mount flush with the underside of my desk right side up. The cable also had to protrude all the way back for cable routing. I also wanted it to be as small as possible as most card readers have extra slots that I no longer need. It was the only device that met all my needs…
