defect and the seller is not responsible!

Very dissatisfied! The distillate flows along the top edge of the spout; I have circled that spot in the image. I didn't understand it at first and it spilled all over the counter and floor. I contacted the seller to get a replacement but they don't reply.

Stainless steel is the way to go

I've only had this burner for 3 weeks but so far it's working really great. It's very easy to use. At first I was concerned about having medical grade distilled water, but after realizing how the process worked I wasn't worried anymore. You need to change the activated carbon filters after about 30 batches. After a while I rinse with some vinegar and a sponge and then do a thorough cleaning when I change filters, but that's because I use this as medical grade, not just for CPAPs and…

Excellent distiller for radiator and water filter

I liked it from the first use. I had another that had a very metallic taste. It's not like this. Looks good, consumes a lot of energy. I would recommend putting it in a room that needs heating while you make water. It's also probably best to pre-boil the water for about 10 minutes. This ensures that whatever is in the water, which boils at a lower temperature than water, evaporates. If you don't do this, the cooked stuff will most likely just condense back into the finished product. Not an…

Broke after 2 months. Get MegaHome instead!

The price was right and it made a gallon of water in 2 hours but broke within 2 months just before the return deadline. I contacted the seller about the problem (the fan still works but the unit does not heat) and they said that this is a fuse that needs to be replaced in the unit that was in the box. However, there were no instructions on how to replace the fuse and I didn't want to mess with the electrical unit. Save some money and buy MegaHome instead! It may take you 6-8 hours to make a…

Why is there a resistor in the package? do i have to use it

I received this still for use on water. Along with the parts in a sealed package was a resistor. I believe resistors are used for temperature control. I didn't know if it needed to be installed. I spent two hours researching this. I tried to send a message to the manufacturer but it was not accepted. I checked other liquor companies but they didn't include this part. I've tried to use it twice so far. It takes an hour less than my old burner and holds a little more water. It seems to work very…

Pure water at its best

I've never been so excited about drinking water. Just knowing that the water that comes out of it is purer than tap water, bottled, filtered and treated with reverse osmosis makes me really happy. I never gave much thought to where my drinking water came from until I saw a lecture and demonstration of it. I've never been afraid to pick up my glass and think about what harm it might do to me, maybe not now, but even in the future. With this burner, all those worries are a thing of the past…

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • There are more interesting options.

Works great, needs a better still lid.

I bought a stainless steel burner and that's what this review is about. I love this torch with one exception: the cap where the nozzle is meant to be inserted is not the same as the position of the nozzle. To fix this, I first had to place half a clothespin under the opposite side of the carafe as a spacer so they lined up. And then I came up with the idea of using a silicone straw to fill the gap and it worked great. So I'm deducting a star for inconsistency. The closed lid works perfectly. I…

Essential for CPAP and sinus irrigation. Great value for money

I buy 2 gallons of distilled water every two weeks for CPAP to use for sleep apnea. During the winter months, flu, colds and blocked sinuses make it difficult to breathe at night. This Vevor still provides an ample supply of sterile water for both CPAP and sinus irrigation to keep my head open and breathing. This burner will pay for itself over the next few months. I would recommend anyone buying this unit to install it in a garage or room with an external exhaust fan. At the end of a cycle…

Pure water for CPAP, humidifier, drinking and cooking

I chose this distiller because it had on and off buttons. Otherwise it's the same as almost every other burner on Revain. I ordered it and it was stolen by UPS. I have requested a replacement. When replaced, one of the bolts/nuts connecting the handle to the carafe was missing. Another bolt/nut was dangling in the box. This burner worked great for a week. Then the burner (upper half) stopped working. The water continued to boil in the lower half. The pressure pushed the still up, allowing water
