Much better than wood

Great thing! I am very satisfied for the price. I used to just use a piece of 2x4 scrap and that's a huge improvement for a small amount of money. The paper can be changed quickly and easily, takes up exactly 1/4 of the sheet and is easy to grip. One side is chamfered for corners and the other side is rounded for grooves. This is a well thought out design. Overall very satisfied

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Periodicity

Good product obviously not suitable for 9 x 3.6 inch sandpaper

Works great. Once the sandpaper is inserted, it holds very securely. Size and shape are excellent. My only complaint is that 9x3.6 doesn't fit properly; You will need to trim your sheet to fit. Part of the confusion came from the fact that I saw a "frequently bought together" product associated with this block. I bought the sandpaper to match and later found I had to cut it to fit when the goods arrived.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Expensive

Great price for a hand sanding block that uses 1/4 sheet sandpaper

I don't know why it's almost impossible to find a good hand sanding block that uses the same 1/4 sheet sandpaper as my sander . It was basically the only one I could find and because of the low price I jumped at it. At first glance it appears to be well made and has a handy snap feature for easy changing of the sandpaper. I feel like the top handle is too small for my hands and I can't grab the handle myself. Otherwise it's a great little product.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Modern

Easy to use and very cheap.

Very easy to use and very basic sanding block. It's just the right size for me and worked with no hiccups. Half of the sheet inserted. For the reviewer who said it takes 3 hands to put sandpaper in, my condolences as it was the easiest thing I've ever made. This person must not have understood how the mechanism works. You press the little tabs (black ones) on top and the red plastic comes up about 1.5cm so you can put sandpaper in either side which is very easy. Then just push it back in so itโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • Protection

Good price but not sure of shelf life

I've had it for about a week and am wondering how long it will last. It's very inexpensive, and if you only need it for a project or two, you should be fine. There is a release on the handle so you can put sandpaper on it and then clamp the handle and while it's still working the clamp is released. be usable. I think this is a case of "you get what you pay for" and it's very reasonably priced so can't really complain, but if you have a few larger projects in mind, go ahead and enter few dollars

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

This is a great hand mill

For example, a quarter sheet is required, which can be made relatively easily from ordinary sheets of sandpaper. The sharp edge allows you to get into hard-to-reach places. I have a great random orbital sander, but sometimes all I need is a hand sander. I have 3 and keep 150, 220 and 320. I have others that are 80 grit. For a low price I can afford to have one for each of my favorite grit. Use them over and over again with heavy pressure and none of them worked. Insert sandpaper and tightenโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Everything is great!
Cons
  • High price

Great, quick to replace

Okay, I don't really mind - for wood. When I tried to sand the aluminum it left marks due to holes in the floor. But for the price, they work great. There are several options I've found for sizes that work. Ali/Gator sandpaper produces 4-1/2" x 5-1/2" sheets that fit perfectly. This is the recommended size. I also found that a strip about 3" x 7-1/4" would be clamped end to end (as is the case with the 400 grit in my drawing). 4 pieces measuring 4-1/2" x 5-1/2" which is good for larger grainsโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Comfortable grip
Cons
  • Doubtful

Pretty good. - Hand tool

This is a great little sanding block. Some of the reviewers here say it's impossible to attach sandpaper to it without a third arm, leg and genie lamp, but to be honest I don't get what all the fuss is about. It all sounds like first world problems to me. Is it a bit awkward? Eh Sort of, but once you get used to it (e.g. swap twice) it's easy and I've found it to be a really reliable and solid block for my paper. - Is it impossible or very uncomfortable to position the paper? .maybe if you have

Pros
  • Shape for sanding corners, curves and flat surfaces
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

I'm lucky! suitable for power tools and hand tools

Until recently I have only worked with sanding blocks a few times. Whenever I needed it, I settled for regular sand and used it until the sides were smoother than the kid's back. My old method wasn't working for my current project, so I was looking for cheap and easy alternatives to a bunch of $5 sanding blocks in different grit sizes. This grinder had decent reviews and was the right price. Now that I've used it a bit I give this sander high marks, particularly for the following traitsโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Easy to load with standard sandpaper
Cons
  • No power
