Brush Failure.: Art Supplies

One brush was awful and lost a lot of hair when I tried it. The others were fine. but only good and for $20 I expected better. I bought 5 packs of synthetic watercolor brushes from daiso for $1.50 and they hold the same amount of water and none of them have spilled. I mean I'm not returning them because they gave me some forms I didn't have. before, but I would recommend buying a different product.

Nice Brushes: Art Supply, Art Supply

My sister gave me these brushes and I decided to write a review to share my opinion. What a nice set of good quality brushes in large sizes and interesting shapes. I've never tried cat tongue and played with it for a while. So far I can say that with one brush you can finish the whole picture - it's so versatile. Another one I love is the rigger. I tried to make some inscriptions and it's just perfect. And of course, the classic rounds and flats are tapered and so dimensionally stable that it's

Too big for detailed work, think again

I was skeptical when I got it. For some reason I thought they were going to be a lot smaller and then they appear and become HUGE. My typical painting size is 8x8 or smaller, so I don't need huge brushes. But I was wrong. I need these brushes like air. The 10th and 12th rounds are so ridiculously sharp that I was able to bring out the smallest details of the owl drawing I was working on (see video screenshot of my Instagram stories). It's amazing how detailed it can be. The final painting will…

Painting is fun with good brushes!

I've been into watercolor painting for a long time and recently wanted to return to drawing using this technique. I bought some good quality watercolors but was frustrated with the "medium" brushes I bought at my local art store. to keep. After trying to use them I found that they didn't hold the water properly, they lost their point and felt soft when painting. I wasn't sure if it would be advisable to buy "synthetic squirrel" brushes or what the quality would be like. I saw another buyer's…

TO UPDATE. Bad brushes - less than brilliant customer service

UPDATE. Having lived with and used them for a few months I would not recommend them at all. I've never had a comb like this before. I thought it would be a nice improvement over cheaper brushes, but it's not. Either stick with cheap basic brushes or spend real money on higher quality brushes. I won't even use them for dirty work like covering liquids as they shed like crazy. A brush made from a mix of 11 round squirrels has lost a third of its hair. Artificial Protein 10 is only slightly…

Exceptional!: Brush Sets

Really excellent brush quality, exceptional price and remarkable company despite a serious problem with my order. let me explain. I'm new to watercolor painting (because I only discovered this material about 8 weeks ago) but I learned quickly * the quality of your work is directly proportional to the quality of your tools * If you paint with cheap chalk paints your art will look chalky and cheap. If your paper isn't high quality, your art won't be high quality either. And no matter how skilled…

Great brushes at a great price

I've been using these brushes for a few weeks now and love them more and more each time. The brushes look great. Shiny and black with a red tip at the end. The curve on the handle is in the right place and, most importantly, the right size for a comfortable grip. The bristles are springy like a sable, recurring to a pointed end or sharp edges while holding quite a bit of water, like squirrel brushes. With synthetic brushes, the tips of the round brushes sometimes curve and you don't get many…

Great set for watercolor beginners

First impression: ⠀ The set has been put together in a package that contains comprehensive information about the brushes themselves, how to use them and how to care for them properly. I thought it was a nice touch as most brushes don't have any information. It also has the added benefit of eliminating those pesky UPC code stickers on the handles. The brushes themselves are aesthetically pleasing to the eye, with well-balanced and beautiful handles that are very comfortable to hold. All brushes…

Looking for loose threads but 5⭐ for customer service

I expect some loose hairs or threads from new brushes. Unfortunately, the fact that my recently purchased artificial cat tongue squirrel fell off 3/4 of the way leads me to suspect that there must have been a mistake with the glue used to secure the threads in the ferrule. I was happy with the nib, point of detail and water absorption of the brush until the filaments started falling out. The other 5 brushes in the set don't seem to have the same issue, but I'll look for more random strands. I…
