Im not particularly happy, but basically everything is fine.

In my review below I will describe my opinion about the product WD 5TB My Passport Ultra Silver Portable External. Probably not important for everyone, but, unlike other manufacturers, there is a hard drive inside, which CANNOT be simply connected inside the computer via a regular SATA interface. It is soldered to the USB adapter board. With SEAGATE, I could simply unplug the hard drive from the USB adapter and plug it inside the computer. It wont work here.

  • Gets hot with heavy use. My CrystalDiskInfo showed up to 48 degrees when the disk just lies on the table at room temperature. After heating, it stops working until it cools down. You have to use cooling briquettes from the refrigerator.

  • 1. Heats up. Even at idle, the temperature stays around 40-43. When recording large amounts of information, it heated up to 50 . I do not know how much this will affect the life of the product, but nevertheless there is a problem. Other screws of a smaller volume in the same place in idle time rarely heated up to more than 40, and under load - up to 45 degrees. 2. This is a trifle, but still I would like the cord to be longer and softer. But this is a minus far-fetched, because a similar problem occurs with other hard drives.

A worthless product, definitely not worth your money!

Quite good, but I expected more from it.

At first I thought that the marriage of a particular model, but after reading the reviews I saw that many have such a problem. 3 stars because it is a really well-known and reliable company and I really hope that I still got a factory defect. By the way, return the disk under the guarantee of the factory, the quest is the same. You need to get an authorization code on the manufacturers website and send it yourself according to their packaging requirements (like a crystal vase).

A good product, more pros than cons.

As for the scratches, I had to attach silicone legs so that the disc simply does not roll on the surface and does not scratch at the same time. The disk is constantly used as a second drive for a laptop, so it withstands the test of constant operation. After two falls from a height of about half a meter, a check was made through the Victoria HDD: not a single bad block, only a few blocks the speed dropped, but this did not affect the overall performance at all.
