## What is Solo CKPool

Solo CKPool (solo.ckpool.org) is a solo Bitcoin mining service: each miner mines to their own address and keeps 98% of any block they find. It is run on a not-for-profit basis by Con Kolivas, the creator of cgminer and ckpool, and has mined solo blocks since 2014.

## Coins, payout schemes and fees

| Coin | Payout scheme | Pool fee | Minimum payout |
|---|---|---|---|
| BTC | Solo | 2% | — |

## Payouts

| Parameter | Details |
|---|---|
| Solo mining | The block is paid straight to the miner's Bitcoin address: 98% of the block reward plus transaction fees. If no block is found, there is no reward. |
| Payout scheme explained | No payment schemes and no pool operator wallets: rewards never pass through a pool balance. |
| Transaction fees | The 2% fee is taken on top of the Bitcoin transaction fees in the block. |

## Connecting

| Parameter | Details |
|---|---|
| Server regions | US West, US East, Germany, Singapore and Australia; stratum.ckpool.org picks the lowest-latency endpoint and fails over automatically. |
| Protocol | Stratum V1 on stratum.ckpool.org:3333 (port 4334 for rentals only). |
| Stratum V2 | Supported on port 3336, plus an experimental Stratum V2 job declaration server on port 3337. |
| Account needed | No. The username is the miner's Bitcoin address; invalid addresses are rejected. |
| Supported hardware | Stratum-compatible ASIC miners. CPU, GPU and FPGA miners are not recommended. |

## Security and transparency

- No logins or pool wallets: miners can confirm they mine to their own address by examining the coinbase and template sent over stratum.
- Transaction selection is public: the pool uses default Bitcoin Core selection without filtering and publishes its current transactions.
- The pool software is open source under GPLv3.

## History

| Date | Event |
|---|---|
| 2014 | The service starts mining solo blocks. |
| 2 April 2020 | The current official support thread for solo.ckpool.org opens on the BitcoinTalk forum. |

## Risks and caveats

- Solo mining pays only when the miner finds a block; small miners may never earn a reward.
- The service is run not-for-profit and takes no responsibility if the pool has an issue.

## About the operator

- **Operator**: Con Kolivas, creator of cgminer and ckpool

## How voting works

Votes are anonymous and carry no text. Each device has one vote per item; press the same button again to remove it. Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a person is voting. We keep a random device ID in a cookie and a salted hash of the IP address to limit abuse — no names, no accounts. Votes are visitors’ opinions, not investment advice.
