Review on Qtum by Saleh Bayramli

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Today I am going to talk you about Qtum token and its features.

Hi there. Topic is Qtum. Let's begin.

Qtum is an open source blockchain platform that takes some of the best parts of Bitcoin and Ethereum and packages them into a developer-friendly platform that can support highly secure decentralized applications (DApps).

Specifically, Qtum combines the Bitcoin UTXO transaction model with the Ethereum virtual machine adaptation layer interface to produce the first UTXO-based smart contract platform. Unlike Bitcoin and Ethereum (currently), Qtum is protected by Proof of Stake (PoS); it will be described in detail later.

The theoretical throughput of the platform is as high as 70 transactions per second (TPS), which is 16 times faster than Bitcoin and 7 times faster than Ethereum. It also has low inflation and a fair distribution of block rewards, ensuring that stakeholders are adequately compensated for protecting the network.

Qtum was established in 2016 and launched its mainnet in September 2017. Like many platforms in the 2016-2017 era, Qtum was initially funded through an Initial Coin Offering (ICO), raising a total of $ 15.6 million in Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH). At the time, this was the fourth highest ICO in history.

Qtum is built on the Bitcoin UTXO transaction model, through layers of additional scripting functions, allowing developers to build powerful decentralized applications on the platform. Developers use these features to build Qtum's fast-growing DApp ecosystem, including decentralized games, search engines, payment toolkits, social media, and more.

It is protected by a custom variant of Proof of Stake (PoS) and recently added the "Offline Stake" feature, which allows delegating non-custodial addresses to "Super Stakeholders" online. Qtum PoS uses the Qtum Core full node wallet to earn network rewards for betting QTUM and posting blocks. The

QTUM token is the native gas token for smart contract transactions and transactions on Qtum, as well as a reward token for node operators.

In April 2021, Qtum underwent a hard fork (called FastLane). The average block generation time was reduced from 128 seconds to 32 seconds, and the amount of block generation increased four times. This update is expected to better prepare Qtum for ever-increasing DeFi activity while reducing the confirmation time for standard transactions.

Final thoughts: Qtum is a good platform and usable. It is also good for far future investments in my opinion
