Not what I was looking for and buggy

I wanted to upgrade a really good 27 inch Dell monitor (1920 x 1080) to a 4k monitor; I use the monitor with both Windows and Macbook Pro via HDMI. The Dell display is sharp and bright, with no flickering or dead pixels. But I'm looking for a larger screen resolution, especially on a Macbook. Assembling it wasn't easy at first: the screw holes that attach it to the stand didn't line up exactly, and it took a bit of strength and fumbling to assemble. Also, the place to connect cables is under the panel and it's quite difficult to get there without laying the monitor on the front, so changing cables is a problem. This was my first experience with a curved monitor and although I've only been using it for a week I can't say it brought any benefits that I could see sitting about 3 or 4 feet away. But that can be a personal preference. I don't play, this is pure music software, web development and work. .The real problem is the windows 7 display was blurry and dark and I still had a solution. at 1920x1040. I bought a new graphics card to make sure it wasn't the motherboard's onboard video - it wasn't. The operating system only saw the monitor as normal PnP. My plan was to upgrade to Windows 10 to see if that helped, but I ended up sending it back before I was done with it. And with a Macbook it was too dark. I spent some time with the monitor controls to see if I could improve the display, but it just wasn't sharp enough to match the Macbook screen. And while the increased screen resolution was nice, what was really noticeable when switching between screens was how dim and less sharp this monitor was. Then, during a long day of work with a Macbook, the monitor started to shine. It only flashes for a split second. At first I wasn't sure if it was just something I noticed out of the corner of my eye, but after a few hours it definitely happened. Fast intermittent flashes. I think there might even have been a few instances where there was some sort of noise at the bottom of the screen. At the end of the day I immediately repackaged it for return.
