Cable cover/braid not connected to RJ end

The whole point of ordering this kit over a cheaper kit or buying a black phone cord and having two of them was the pre-installed nature and aesthetics of the jacketed cords. The housing was not secured with heat shrink tubing or secured in the RJ connector, so it was loose and worn at the connector end. Which destroys the pure view and makes it meaningless. If I need to fix a cable, I could do it myself.

Pros
  • Electronics
Cons
  • Unusable features

Car electronics accessories missing value

Generally a good idea but not very high quality and very expensive for the price. The wires from the RJ-11 jack are wrapped in cloth insulation for the first foot or two, then 10-15 feet of ribbon cable terminating in a fuse connector with two red/black wires for power. Seriously, $2 parts if that. Cloth insulation is not caught by the strain relief in RJ-11. I even repressed it; There just isn't enough material to connect. This means that with some fairly thin wires there is no strain relief…

Cable jacket/jacket not connected to end RJ

The whole point of ordering this kit over the cheaper one or getting the black phone cord and having two was the prefabricated character and aesthetic of the jacketed cord. So what in this case wasn't heat shrunk or snapped into the RJ connector was loose and frayed at the end of the connector. Which destroys the pure view and makes it meaningless. If I need to fix a cable, I could do it myself.

Pros
  • All right!
Cons
  • Expensive

Cost isn't the best for radar detectors

Overall it's a good idea but it's not very well made and very expensive for what it is. The wires from the RJ-11 jack are wrapped in cloth insulation for the first foot or two, then 10-15 feet of ribbon cable terminating in a fuse connector with a pair of red/black wires for power. Seriously, $2 parts if that. Cloth insulation is not caught by the strain relief in RJ-11. I even repressed it; There just isn't enough material to make a connection. Cable jacket/braid not connected to RJ end

The whole point of ordering this kit was the prefabricated character and aesthetics of the jacketed cable rather than buying a cheaper or black phone cord and two. Which in this case wasn't secured with any heat shrink tubing, or the RJ plug was locked so it was loose and frayed at the end of the plug. Which destroys the pure view and makes it meaningless. If I need to fix a cable, I could do it myself.

Pros
  • Compatible with Escort sensors.
Cons

No Value - Car and Vehicle Electronics

All in all it's a good idea but not very well built and very expensive for what it is. then there is 10-15 feet of flat cable terminating in a fuse connector with a pair of red/black wires for power. Seriously, $2 parts if that. Cloth insulation is not caught by the strain relief in RJ-11. I even repressed it; there just isn't enough material to connect. This means that with some fairly thin wires there is no strain relief. Not durable, very expensive for what it is. If you're the DIY type of…
