Will not fit - Toyota redesigned mid year

Will not fit 2004 Toyota Sequoia which required a thread cover. It would be nice to have a photo of the insert in the listing so you don't make the same mistake. Apparently, Toyota switched mid-year. The listing/manufacturer listed this as appropriate, but it is not.

This gas cap did not fit my 2003 Toyota 4Runner

It looked exactly like the original gas cap but it doesn't "bite" so you can close the cap by twisting it on the right side just click. I tried three different gas caps, all claiming to be just the right fit for this car, and none of them worked. As a result, I cut out the gasket from the original gas cap (it was old and hard) with a new gasket. As long as it works

The cap is perfect for the 2003 Tundra - the steps I took to reset the Check Engine Light (2021)

First clean the surface of the metal tank opening with a cotton rag and glue Then add a small amount of oil to the lid's rubber seal and insert until it clicks. Secondly, have the OBC/OBD turndra reset by a knowledgeable professional auto mechanic, which will eventually reset the Check Engine light.

2005 Toyota 4Runner - too easy to remove

I bought this for my 2005 Toyota 4Runner which my daughter drives. At 19 she managed to break the old one and this one had some good reviews and was advertised as working but although this gas cap technically FITS the gas spout I couldn't fix it. I tried to squeeze like a medicine bottle. Tried turning it in the opposite direction. I carefully tried to twist it into place. Fixed Check Engine and other warning lights but took a while

The new fuel cap fixed the "Check Engine" and "VSC trac" indicator lights on my 3rd gen 4Runner. It took a few weeks after installation for the lights to go out as I don't drive this car far or often. I estimate that after installing it the light went out after 100 miles. Installation consisted of simply removing the old one and tightening the new one. Very easy. Better not to the dealer or workshop!

Fixed my evaporator system failure alarm - 2005 Lexus GX470

Bought because the GX470 (2005) signaled a failure of the evap system on the dash - similar to VSC, engine monitor and check, everything lights up and stays on. An internet search revealed that the old gas cap could be the problem as the o-ring tends to shrink and harden after 15+ years of service.
