I used to buy the standard carbide version of this bit and I have to say I use the dado method of building on pre made plywood. I always get a 3/8 kerf cut within a month because acrylic is a lot harder than plywood. but Amana really knows her stuff. I've been using this tip continuously for over a month and it's still as sharp as when I bought it top to bottom and thanks to the coating it doesn't burn marks on the work piece or the tip and is virtually resin free. top up I no longer have to clean my bits with nail polish thinner and a brush. It's definitely worth the extra money if you want long lasting quality, clean and crispy cuts. the same can be said of all other bits in the spectrum. I pride myself on the quality of wood products and this is the only solution.
