Stupidly, I ignored the warnings in previous reviews that iOttie leaves a visible mark on the car's dashboard. I attached an adhesive pad for the device to the dashboard and left it there for six days; The car was mostly in the shade. When I removed the sticky pad on the seventh day it left visible residue and a mark/dent on the dashboard. I've tried various vinyl cleaners and restorers with no success. Search the internet for solutions suggested by Goo Gone Gel Remover. GGGR removed the leftovers, but if you try this, run a test patch on your computer to make sure the color doesn't change. While GGGR removed the adhesive, the imprint/groove made by iOttie remained in place at the time of this review. Also, the glue in the sticky pad seems to have removed some of the shine that was on the dashboard before the sticky pad was applied; I don't think this is due to using GGGR. In fact, iOttie kept my phone safe. However, if you are worried about your dashboard, you need to attach the device to your car's windshield or other device.
