A few years ago we were on a family ski trip in the Sierra Nevada mountains of California. My husband, son and I (along with another family) celebrated 50 years of skiing. When I discovered that there were no champagne glasses in our apartment, and that we were supposedly a "champagne to celebrate" family, I headed to the country hoping to find cheap champagne glasses and a bottle of champagne to match. When I stopped at the first small liquor store, I found these Spiegelau Winelovers champagne glasses. They looked way better than I expected for the price. My next stop was a nearby market where I found an amazing bottle of California sparkling wine that was on sale to my surprise. So we had a nice after-ski cocktail hour and toasted our years of skiing memories together. Back home I was hoping to find some more glasses so I was happy to find these, albeit a bit more expensive but exactly the same manufacturer and style. They continue to be used when we get together to enjoy a casual but enjoyable pre-dinner cocktail when our family is together. They are a good size, very good looking and well priced for informal events.
