Review on Saris CycleOps Trainer Magnetic Adjuster by Abaraham Duvernot

Incredibly, removing the switch works with the setting

Overall, this machine is amazing. I've been using it regularly for several months and it's very high quality and works great. Some reviewers have pointed out that the remote switching device does not work properly, and they are partially correct - it may not work immediately after installation. HOWEVER, there is a small metal tie on the connection cable that can easily be adjusted to increase the tension on the cable to make it work properly. The instructions that come with the box aren't very clear on this, so I can see how it could potentially be confusing/missing during the install/build. Still, it's great to have a remote shifter. I don't really know how I would ride indoors without it - it allows me to gradually warm up and cool down during my training ride and simulate hills etc without getting off the bike. This is a very durable and well made trainer. In addition, you can ride on regular roads/trails with the special axle required/supplied with the bike - no need to swap it for the axle supplied with the bike. So you can easily switch between strapping your bike to the trainer and riding it outdoors. One minor downside is that if your bike has very large diameter tires like mine (29 inches I think) you may need to prop the trainer up on something when riding on carpet (I put yours in two 2 x 4s ). Otherwise, the wheel will rub on the carpet while driving. If you have smaller wheels, this is not a problem.

Pros
  • LINEAR RESISTANCE: Increases workout intensity to accommodate every pedal stroke and gear change
Cons
  • Doubt it
