Although we have an invisible fence, our boy ran away one night. (Now we're always in the yard with him.) Since he's mostly black, we have a big yard and bad lighting on our street, we always wear one like this when he goes out at night so we can spot stinkers in the yard. He was wearing red the night he escaped, and a neighbor who knows him and lives a block away remarks on "the red light zigzagging down the street" (our pup was NOT caught), which is theirs attracted attention. Eventually the red light was close enough for her to call our dog and take her home. They get weaker over time. We think green seems to be the brightest. Now we have three. Blue (very handsome) is probably retiring. They charge quickly - 30 minutes - so we always have one charged and ready to go.
