I didn't have high expectations for this jacket after reading one of the reviews but it has become one of my favorite jackets. When I helped her out of her shrink wrap she was a pathetic mess of folds and the faux fur was flat and lifeless. Despite being told to hand wash only, I tossed it in the washing machine and washed in cold water on the gentle cycle. I even put it in the dryer, gasped, and pulled it out when the sleeves were a bit damp. It turned out beautiful. I think if I washed it warm and dried it completely it would shrink. However, there was minimal, if any, shrinkage on a gentle cold wash and quick dryer wash. The faux fur is nicely fluffed up and the jacket looks great. It's a barn coat style, but the crisp white faux fur contrasts beautifully with the gray cotton canvas. The fabric seems durable enough and it's a great jacket for fall and winter when temperatures don't dip below 40 degrees. I would definitely wear this in the heat of my 40's and 50's. The little one fits me perfectly. For the record, I'm 5ft 2in, 28in, 128lbs and usually wear medium sized clothes.
