I ordered this specifically for plywood construction. I used to have an MDF chipboard folding table and it ripped the first time I used it. ASSEMBLY You will need a #2 Phillips screwdriver. It took me an hour, large illustrations are easy to understand, just pay attention to the position of the holes in the illustrations as there are many. After the first section of shelves was assembled, it all made sense. There are 17 parts in total, including 2 hinges and lots of 3-in-1 fixings (small screws for the hinges and tabletop) and some large silver screws. Also a bundle of round veneer stickers suitable for covering all holes and heads of bolts and screws. The hinges and table top are mounted on the wall after hanging. BUILT-IN DIMENSIONS Here you are, it all depends if you want it low for a child, normal for an adult, standing height, kitchen worktop height and so on. I decided to make a 30″ high tabletop that would be the same as my dining table and that I would be comfortable working on. After some measurements and calculations, I decided to draw a straight horizontal line 45 inches from the floor to the wall, and then raised the top of a wide but flat shelf over the workbench along that line, marked the mounting holes, and set it up, and started installing the drywall anchors. I made it myself and strongly recommend you have a helper for this, between using things to support it and my whole body to hold it in place to mark the mounting holes, I dropped it and what you know, nothing happened. THANK YOU, plywood and durable laminate! INSTALLATION AND HOLES IN WALL It comes with 4 screws and drywall anchors and one smaller screw and drywall anchor intended for wall mounting. You will drill 5 holes in your wall, 4 of which if you must use drywall anchors will leave permanent marker sized holes when removed. The fifth smaller anchor and screw leaves a pencil sized hole, this anchor goes in the top left corner and is the only one that hasn't been countersunk so the round veneer sticker doesn't cover it. I plan on at least painting the head of the screw white since it's golden and really stands out. THIS IS MY ONLY COMPLAINT ABOUT THIS DEVICE. LAMINATE VENEER It looks like a thinner version of Formica worktops. Up close the imprint looks like a stone to me, but from a distance it looks like whitewashed wood. It's unique and beautiful. It has a light texture, durable and smooth. To make wiping easier or to move the coffee cup from the edge, you can use a non-slip stand. SIZES AND STORAGE SO MANY USES I AM MY PHOTOGRAPH I have used recognizable objects for your visual reference on the tower's vertical shelves. My laptop is 17 inches, leaving room for a stenographer and a coffee mug. The cork sheet I have on the trough shelf is 12 inches square and fits like a glove. Storage space makes sense for many things, not just for a desk. Tiny eat-in kitchen, dining table for two, children's room that can be hung low and then raised as it grows. Its usefulness is endless, and it is powerful enough to be moved and reshaped as we grow in life. GENERAL THOUGHTS I am very happy with this unit, nothing but the top left screw head is countersunk. I can also drill a nickel sized hole in the gutter to accommodate the USB and keg charge cables so I don't have to route and move them every time. I can also look for smaller baskets that fit on the top and bottom shelves to hold all those little things I use that I want to keep out of sight. This is a really well made, perfectly drilled and squared, easy to assemble and durable piece of furniture. PS, I forgot to tell you, when the desktop is folded, the distance between it and the wall is 2 inches. The socket can be underneath and used. Hope that was helpful, thanks!
