Yes, they are great for a Hawaii vacation.
I haven't used them for hiking or anything else but my husband and I ordered them for our vacation at the last minute. They worked well on the beach and on the snorkel boat. Stayed snug on our feet all day even when wet/in water, protecting us from cuts and stepping on things that weren't so comfortable.

- Pretty good value for money but needs more arch support.
