Finger length is "a bit small" - width is true to size. But if you are trying to decide, I would go with the larger size you are considering. They are good for outdoor work, but not for detail work. Whether you're loading firewood, starting heavy equipment (so I'm told), demolishing a building, or riding a four wheeler even as a teenager in the temps, it's excellent! Warm even without a heating pad - and my fingers usually get cold very quickly - and protect against splinters and nails. I love them and will be buying my husband another pair as I actually stole them from him!
