Review on Round Punch Leather Cutter Leathercraft by Heather Shaw

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Be extremely careful when applying pressure.

Works as expected but I don't expect long life. Must be gentle. The weld will break if you apply the slightest amount of force beyond what is required, or if your material is more than it can handle. So if your first use is too much, you won't get another shot. 2 inches is why I bought the set and after 2 careful uses the weld/seam is at the intersection hairline. So the circle is perfect, except when I need to cut the threads that weren't cut with the die. Again just a hairline but I expect to use it a few more times before it becomes useless. My method so far has been to work very slowly, using a 2 ton arbor press with a larger metal plate on top to evenly distribute the pressure and a stamping rubber mat underneath. I have to "feel" it when it cuts and stop immediately when it touches the mat because that increased resistance is enough to split the torch weld. I would like a stronger material and weld as the idea is perfect for what I need.
