Review on Powerful Vornado 683 Medium Pedestal Fan: Maximize Air Circulation in any Room! by Kimberly Wells

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Very powerful fan, easily adjustable, three power levels, I wish it was programmable for the price

I'm a person who heats up very quickly and easily. I have a very high body temperature and try my best to stay cool all year round. We recently moved into a new apartment with no air conditioning in the bedroom and I was dreading the summer nights here in South Bay, California. No longer. Of course, if you live in a very, very hot desert area, this fan will not work for you because no fan can. In that case you will definitely need some sort of air conditioning solution (e.g. a portable air conditioner or, in good weather, an evaporative air conditioner). Now some people expect fans to work miracles. A fan is a fan, meaning it must move air to cool a specific area. This also means there is a lot of noise, because the more powerful the fan, the faster it gets airborne and the louder it gets. Fans also do not lower the temperature in a room as they only move air and bring cooler air from one place to another. Still, this fan does exactly what a fan is supposed to do, and it does it well:* It has three power levels, which is great for adjusting noise levels as well as cooling at night.* Very powerful despite its small sizes. It has a very powerful motor and can blow strong gusts of wind.* It rotates up/down, left and right.* Vertically adjustable. a small fan and it won't cool large rooms. I'd say it works best in an apartment where the rooms aren't particularly large.* It's not programmable like other fans you can find at Revain. This can be an issue if you plan to use it for sleeping, like I did.

Pros
  • Cool
Cons
  • A little torn
