The charger that came with my Flex 5 broke after only a few months in the computer. I ordered this unit to use while waiting for a warranty replacement. It fits just as well as the original and is 1-2 feet longer which helps as the original is too short. The only difference I can see is that this one has a two prong connector while the original has a three prong. I'm sure someone more technical than me can weigh up if there's a real safety difference, but I have a feeling there might be, so I hooked it up to a surge protector (pictured is the original on the left). , this product is on the right). There is a warranty replacement but I will keep it as a fallback for next time it breaks. :)
