later I've had this buried about 5 inches deep on straight Cat6 wire that runs under the road across the street for about 1.5 years. About 1 month ago I started seeing delays of about 50ms when crossing the street, then I finally dug up this plug to test it and sure enough when I opened it there was a ton of water in it. So I decided to just use wire bullets to connect each wire together manually and then tape them. Now my network has only 1 ms latency again. I do not recommend using this connector simply because it is defective and unreliable. I feel like my bullet pin and tape repair should last at least 15 years or more!
