Sometimes effective. I live in Minnesota and spring/summer/fall mornings and evenings tend to be cool or muggy. This breath deflector does a good job of keeping my visor clean when the weather isn't too cold or stuffy. However, when it gets cold or stuffy, the deflector isn't high enough to catch your breath. I find I still have to breathe through my mouth or open my visor to maintain a decent view. In addition, it is easy to remove. While the buckle system is handy, holding my helmet by the inside of the visor removes at least one of the buckles. This is of course easy to fix, but a bit annoying. Conclusion: Can't complain about the price, but be aware that this is a fairly small and flimsy breath deflector.
