The pads themselves are good, thick, good foam rubber. The drill is solid and you get two of them, but if you don't consistently apply even pressure to the buffer (which is difficult when crouched next to a car), the drill will loosen and the buffer head will fall out. I think the drill should be longer because no matter how hard we tightened the drill head, it kept loosening. My second suggestion would be to explain what each upholstery color was used for and number them or rate the foam. The boxed one came with 5 different color buffers and I wasn't sure which one to use for what. I was later told to use the harder one for extra polishing and scratch removal, the softer one for this or that, and so on. I ended up taking a marker and writing on the back of the sponges so I knew what was what. It would be great if there were such instructions.
