To be honest this is not surprising. If you take a fixed quantity and rotate it around a fixed point, it will move in a circle. This is science; Jasper didn't invent this. There are cheaper ways to draw and cut out circles and this guide is a bit pricey, but it works. You don't get infinite length adjustment like the alternative method, but honestly, if 3-3/16" is too short for you and 3-1/4" is too big, you're overestimating your design. Of course it's good to measure directly on the guide, but pay attention to the lines, especially on the smaller diameters. And remember that it is calibrated for a 1/4 inch drill bit. My photos also show the sinking, which I did (first) with a 3/4" straight flute, after adjusting the size. It set up quickly on my Dewalt 618. The trunnion is very tight in the guide, as it should be but I'm worried about damaging the finish if I have to remove it with pliers The only problem I had on my first project was the hinge pin falling out of the guide and into the hinge hole of my part. You will receive two lengths of pin so you need to be careful of the drilling depth. If you work a lot with different gauges it may be cheaper to buy several pins of different lengths. If you are working with a narrow piece as shown in my photos , watch out for the guide wiggling and pinching the power cord or vacuum hose, this will stop you!As for cutting procedures and advice, I think this de n would go beyond the scope of this review. The instructions will help you draw circles with the router. That's all. It doesn't cut.
