This sharpener has worked great for me, updating the sharp edge of the Wiss scissors I use it on. As another reviewer said, it only takes about 4 times if the edge is in pretty good condition, more for a more heavily worn edge. The only thing is the 7 or 8 inch scissors I used them on - I have another large 10 inch scissors - now it's not the sharpener's fault but the large scissors don't fit, the holes on the Sharpeners are not big enough. Again, it's not made for them, so it's not the sharpener's fault, but if you have large scissors you might want to see if they have a larger sharpener, or try something else. That being said, it's great for scissors of the size it's designed for.
