I'll start by saying I'm probably too picky about comforters. I've been using the same one for years and it's been absolutely perfect in every way. I would still use it if it wasn't too small for my bed. It was very expensive what I received as a gift and unfortunately I definitely couldn't justify spending that kind of money on a larger size of the same. When I was looking for a new one, I knew I wouldn't find one I liked as much without spending over $200, so I didn't have high hopes for someone I found, especially for $60. Other than that, this is a fantastic duvet for the price. I've read hundreds of reviews on a long list of comforters I've been looking at and just got to the point where I got tired of searching and settled on these. The material isn't rough, but it's not very smooth either, but I also ordered a duvet cover for it, so I hope that helps with this issue. As with most duvets, it's a bit rusty, but not as bad as many of them. I washed and dried it after taking it out of the box. Cured with 8 tennis balls for almost 2 hours on low heat and it's definitely fluffier than I expected so I'm happy with it. Haven't slept in it yet so can't comment on that, but looks like it's warm enough. I live in Maine and it's currently in the single digits and I keep the temp around 65-68 so most people are fine all season. I don't hate it, I just loved my old one. I would say that for those trying to find a fluffy warm blanket on a budget this will suit you. I only recommended duver if you want it to be really soft. My old one was the perfect material so I was able to use it on its own but at least until a duvet cover arrives I will be using a flat sheet with mine.
